WHAT ARE PRONOUNS AND WHAT IS ITS IMPORTANCE IN LGBTQ COMMUNITY?

Pronouns are words that refer to a person without using their names. To use the correct pronouns creates inclusivity and validates how the person identifies themselves.

HOW DO I KNOW WHICH PRONOUN TO USE?
If you are not sure, just ask 😊 They will likely appreciate it. By affirming them, it can help them be more comfortable.

WHAT DO I DO IF I USE THE WRONG PRONOUNS?
It’s okay, we all make mistakes! Just acknowledge your mistake, apologize, and correct it.

It is a privilege to not have to worry about being misgendered. We can be allies by helping normalize having more than two basic genders.

Another way to be inclusive is to mention your pronouns when introducing yourself in social settings, as well as including your pronouns in email sign-offs.
