Behind the Seams

Ever wonder what goes into creating a fairytale dress from scratch? Here’s a little peek behind the seams of our latest project. 🧵✨

1️⃣ The Starting Point: Just a simple piece of lace that caught my eye and a vision of something truly special.
2️⃣ Pairing Textures: Adding a rich burgundy taffeta to the lace was like finding the perfect dance partner — they just belong together.
3️⃣ Bodice in the Making: Here’s the bodice coming to life, with every waist strap carefully placed to fit like a dream.
4️⃣ Cutting the Tulle: Three layers of tulle ready to become a cloud of softness — this is where the magic starts.
5️⃣ Gathering and Sewing: Bringing it all together, including the horsehair braid at the hem for that perfect finishing touch.
6️⃣ The Back View: I made this dress without a back zipper on purpose — instead, it’s designed with adjustable ties so it can fit more than one size. Perfect for a photographer’s collection of gowns!
7️⃣ The Front View: The final reveal, and it's even dreamier than I imagined!
8️⃣ A Spin of Magic: And finally, a little slow-motion twirl to show how it moves — because every princess dress deserves a moment like this.

22 Meters of Tulle, One Dream Dress 💫

Every layer of this gown was built from scratch — 22 meters of soft burgundy tulle, carefully shaped into something magical.
The skirt is made with two double-circle layers for that effortless drape and flow, and underneath, I built a structured 3 tiered underskirt by hand. Each tier was sewn and layered to create volume without bulk, so the dress feels weightless. The hem is finished with 50 meters of horsehair braid to help it sweep gracefully across the floor.
From cutting and layering to sewing the first tier upside down (so seams disappear), every detail was planned for balance and beauty.
It’s projects like this that remind me why I love design — transforming raw fabric into something alive, full of movement and story.

✨ Before & After: Dress Transformation ✨

Originally handmade two years ago, this pink and gold lace dress was reworked to grow with its wearer.
I added 12” of length to the skirt and extended the shoulder straps while keeping the original stretch side panels for a perfect fit. The result — a floor-length gown that looks brand new and feels regal.
She said it was so comfy she wanted to sleep in it, and she proudly strutted like royalty all day — proof that when something is made to fit just right, confidence follows. 👑

Made this dreamy dress using exquisite 3D lace butterfly floral embroidery on soft tulle — each butterfly is delicately stitched to flutter off the fabric, giving the illusion they’ve just landed. A true labor of love! ❤️
