We are committed to providing exceptional and personalized eye care for the entire family, with distinctive and unique eye wear, contacts and above all else outstanding service. We carry designer glasses and sunglasses from top brands like Armani, Roberto Cavalli, Gucci, Tom Ford, D&G, Bvlgari, Swarovski, Maui Jim and Ray-Ban. As well as a few lesser known brands, but equally as trendy like Jono Hennessy, Iyoko Inyake, Etnia and Julbo. We carry all major brands of contact lenses including Aqua Dailies, Airoptix, Total 1, Oasys, Biofinity, Proclear, Rigid Gas Permeable, SynergEyes and Coloured contacts. Our doctors are all qualified in the use of speciality contact lenses for fitting keratoconus and other corneal irregularities. We perform refractive surgical procedure pre-op assessement and post-op care including Lasik, PRK, RLE and corneal transplants. We are happy to consult with patients on there surgical options. NOW ACCEPTING NEW PATIENTS 👓

Whether it’s time for a routine check-up or your first eye exam in a while, we’d love to see you. Eye Effects is welcoming new patients of all ages, from little ones to grandparents, right here in Strathcona Square.

A first visit is easy: tell us a bit about your eyes and your health, and one of our optometrists will take it from there with a complete vision and eye health examination. Stay a while afterward and try on a few frames. Our team loves helping families find a fit for every face.

October is Contact Lens Safety Month, a good reminder that everyday habits play an important role in keeping your eyes healthy and comfortable. Here are three worth checking:

💧 Keep them away from water. Take your lenses out before swimming or showering, and always store them in fresh contact lens solution, never water. Water can carry germs that may lead to eye infections.

😴 Take them out before bed. Unless your optometrist has prescribed lenses for overnight wear, remove them before you sleep. Sleeping in lenses can increase the risk of an eye infection.

🎃 Costume lenses count too. Health Canada regulates decorative contact lenses as medical devices, and they carry the same kinds of risks as prescription lenses. Talk to your optometrist before adding them to a costume, and avoid any lenses that aren't licensed for sale in Canada.

WHEN WAS YOUR CHILD'S LAST EYE EXAM? 👀📚

October is Children's Vision Month. Kids rarely speak up about vision problems because they assume everyone sees the way they do.

Canada's optometrists recommend a first exam at 6–9 months, at least one between ages 2 and 5, and yearly exams once school starts. A full exam checks focusing, eye teaming and eye health, not just the letter chart. If it's been over a year, now's a great time to book. 👁️
