Did you know B.F. Goodrich found its way into fashion magazine's advertising in the early 1940's??
Late 1920's, a scientist representing B.F Goodrich, (a company we widely associate with rubber tires) had accidentally invented a brand- new rubberized version of PVC while trying to come up with a recipe to create an adhesive for sticking rubber to metal.
Patented in the early 1930's this wonder material was branded 'Koroseal' by B.F. Goodrich, and managed to find its way into the world of deco and wartime fashion with their array of waterproof shoe coverings, fashionable rain gear, and matching umbrellas for women, men and children alike.
This reel showcases the specific model of Koroseal galoshes, made in Canada. They made a real splash in 1940's women's fashion advertising, and became a staple for the fashionable modern women of the time.
