Steam is one of the most important tools in custom hat making! It’s what transforms a stiff felt body into something workable, allowing the fibres to relax so the hat can be stretched, shaped, and molded with precision 👏🏻 👏🏻

With the right amount of steam, a hatmaker can block the crown, shape the brim, and create clean lines that hold their form beautifully ✨

It also lets us make subtle adjustments throughout the process, ensuring the perfect fit and silhouette for each client, so upon pick up the fit is just right!

Without steam, felt would remain rigid and difficult to manipulate. With steam, the material melts like butter almost wanting to be shaped🧈

All in all, steam is a hat makers best friend🤠

🤠CUSTOM COWBOY🤠

What we have here is one heck of a design. A beautiful cross-over crown with a half taco brim and some gorgeous detail.

This client included charms, crystals, a feather, a pick, and picked out a snake for the under brim detail🐍

This is what I’m talking about folks’! You have the ability to make a one-of-a-kind hat that’s just for you.
