Never underestimate the power of the right rug.
It’s not just a finishing touch, it’s a foundation.

The right area rug can:
✔️ Define your layout
✔️ Add texture and warmth
✔️ Ground your colour palette
✔️ Soften acoustics
✔️ Instantly elevate the entire room

Whether you're going for modern minimal or vintage warmth, your rug can make or break the design.
That’s why we source from trusted suppliers like , , and more, because beautiful spaces start from the ground up.

Want help choosing one that fits your space and your vibe? Let’s talk rugs.

Design Doesn’t Have to Be a Solo Sport
Being a designer means juggling timelines, sourcing, installs… and often doing it alone. But it doesn’t have to be that way.

At Stride Design Collective, you get more than access to the best trade suppliers in the industry—you gain a community that gets it.

-Curated supplier network = no more endless sourcing rabbit holes
-Trusted trade pricing = better margins and peace of mind
-A Collective full of like-minded designers = real collaboration and support

Whether you're talking fabric lines, install day meltdowns, or just passing by to pick up some samples… you’re never flying solo.

Design better, together.

iPhone Interior Photography Tips for Designers
You don’t need a DSLR to capture your work beautifully, your iPhone is more powerful than you think.

Here are 5 pro tips to shoot your next project like a magazine spread:

Turn Off Overhead Lights
Natural light is your best friend. Artificial lighting creates yellow casts and harsh shadows.

Clean Your Lens
A quick wipe = sharper, cleaner shots (you’d be surprised how smudgy it gets!)

Use Gridlines for Balance
Turn on the grid in Settings → Camera → Grid. Use it to straighten walls, align furniture, and follow the rule of thirds.

Tap to Focus + Adjust Exposure
Tap the screen to focus, then slide your finger up or down to brighten or darken the image. Don’t just snap, control the light.

Shoot Wide, Then Zoom with Your Feet
Use the native 1x lens (or 0.5x for ultra-wide) and physically move to frame the shot. Digital zoom = blurry photos.

Pro tip: Try shooting from knee height for living rooms, it’s more flattering for furniture!

Looking for a unique experience this Summer? My neighbours recently went to a Graze farm dinner at and they gave it rave reviews, saying it was some of the best food they had ever had.
The Details: A 6 course, 4 hour Farm Dinner. Outdoors or in our tent.
Each dinner consists of 6 small plates from our farm, as well as farms very locally to Perth County, and are approximately 3.5 to 4 hours in length. Coffee and tea is included and you can bring your own wine for a $5 corkage fee. They even have live music some nights. We think this is a super cool experience and a great way to spend a summer night with friends while supporting local!

Thinking of choosing linen for your window treatments?
Here’s the good, the beautiful, and the maybe-not-for-everyone 👇

PROS
Effortless Elegance – That airy, organic vibe designers (and clients) love
Breathable & Light Filtering, Perfect for creating soft, diffused light
Natural Texture – Adds warmth, depth, and relaxed sophistication
Sustainable – Linen is eco-friendly and long-lasting

CONS
Wrinkles Easily – Embrace the rumpled charm or choose a lined version
Less Light Control – Not ideal for blackout needs unless layered
Cost – Quality linen isn’t cheap, but it's worth it for the right space
Expands & Shrinks with Humidity – Linen is a natural fiber that can grow or shrink depending on moisture in the air
May Shrink When Cleaned – Always pre-shrink or opt for professional cleaning only

💡 Pro tip: Have your linen drapes professionally hemmed after they've been hung for a few weeks—they may “grow” or “settle” based on your home's humidity!

Would you use linen in your next project?

Have you designed a beautiful outdoor space to enjoy in the warmer summer months? Sometimes here in Canada the mosquitos can make enjoying the outdoors a little unpleasant. Wanted to share a nifty little product that we use at our home that works wonders AND it's Canadian Made. The Bug Away burns eco friendly material such as egg cartons and take out coffee trays to repel mosquitos and it works really really well!
