June Passion Project:
Blue Bird Chaps 🐦
I am so lucky to put together so many wonderful themes throughout the month- and this month did not disappoint as far as fun/different themes! But sometimes when I see a hide hanging up at my supplier's I just get a vision for what I know it can become. And that's what happened yesterday when I went to Atlantic Leather to pick up my leather order.
I've seen the Navy Blue a dozen times or so, of course I have to feel it and note how beautiful it is. But this Light/Baby/Robin's Egg Blue caught my eye for the first time yesterday and I knew what I had to do with it.
Picture this: A Navy Blue chap (or c***k!) with a Light Blue peaking out with a double fringe and a scallop to frame in the leg, then a thin lace that will be buckstitched around that border, just giving it enough contrast to really pop and remind you of a swooping Barn Swallow with it's blue body and red collar around it's neck. Of course I will go all out with the tooling on the yokes, picture the Blue Bird swooping across the yoke. Then to pair it off with some quality Maker-Made Bronze Hardware made by Jeremiah Watt.
Sounds like a dream to me!
If you haven't heard of my monthly passion projects I will leave some photos of them in the comment section, they are some of my favorite works. Basically it's a trust exercise- you give me your measurements and I have full creative control. Because of the trust you really have to put into me I take $100 off the price as a thank you for letting me be so creative and have fun. If you are hesitant (please don't be) about the Blue chap body I can use a dark brown for the body and use the Navy, Light Blue and Red as the accent colors (additional charge for the brown body).
If this sounds like something you're interested in shoot me a message (I'll turn them back on for a few days)!
