💛 National Volunteer Week 💛
I’ve been thinking a lot about what to say… and honestly, “thank you” doesn’t feel big enough.
Because what our volunteers do goes far beyond helping out.
You show up on days when it’s busy, overwhelming, and sometimes even a little chaotic — and you still lead with kindness. You take the time to talk to people, to really see them, to make them feel like they matter.
And that stays with people.
It’s in the quiet moments — a smile, a conversation, a simple act of care — where the real impact happens. And I see it every single day.
Because of you, people don’t just come here for things… they come here because they feel safe, respected, and human.
I also want to take a moment to recognize a few of the incredible people who make this place what it is:
💛 Lynn Marie— you always have the Capreol kids in mind, and the way you welcome them makes them feel like they truly belong.
💛 Catherine — your compassion runs deep. You genuinely care about those going through hard times, and you would give the shirt off your back to help someone in need.
💛 Loren — you have a heart for people who are often misunderstood. You meet them with compassion, not judgment, and that matters more than you know.
💛 Liliane Tambeau — you may be new, but you’ve jumped right in without hesitation, and that speaks volumes about who you are.
And for those who may not know me, I’m Melanie — and I believe in something simple but powerful: no matter your age, gender, or income level, we are all part of the human race, and everyone deserves to be treated with dignity and respect. That’s what we stand for here.
You are not “just volunteers.”
You are the heart of this place.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for choosing to be part of this. Thank you for showing up. Thank you for caring.
This place wouldn’t be what it is without you — not even close.
I’m really proud of what we’re building together 💛
If you’ve ever been impacted by what we do, take a moment this week to show some love to the people behind it all.
