We are very excited to let you all know that we are finally moving into our new facility at 20 Cobirt Drive (This photo is from earlier this fall). While we are still operational during this transition, our office will be closed Tuesday February 22nd, while we migrate our phone and computer systems. Our studio is based in the historic 'Tweels Grocery Store' in the heart of downtown Charlottetown - just minutes away from the local restaurant and bar scene. We are a short walk to the beautiful Victoria Park, Peakes Quay Waterfront and the Confederation Center Art Gallery. Our studio is 5 years old and rapidly growing a reputation for thoughtful design across Canada. In 2018 our Urban Beehive Project received an RAIC Urban Design Award for Community Initiatives and recently received the RAIC Emerging Practice Award for our innovations in practice, quality of built work and admirable dedication to our community.

Nine Yards has been featured in several publications including Canadian Architect, Globe and Mail, EDIT magazine, Dezeen, Architizer and Design Milk. We were also honored to have our Howe Bay House selected as one of the five international residential projects in Azure Magazine's 2021 Houses Issue.

We have a diverse portfolio of projects including residential, commercial and public buildings, navigating projects from programming to the end of construction. Our collaborative studio environment encourages exploration, experimentation and the open exchange of ideas to provide design solutions for our clients.

We believe in a strong work-life balance and we practice this within our company. Members of the Nine Yards team create their own hours that work for their life, rarely working overtime unless desired. We believe that work should be rewarding and fun. Our studio is known for '9Y Fridays', a Friday afternoon happy hour which often has community members and friends drop in for a visit and music sessions with talented members of our team. We integrate dinners, lunches, happy hours, celebrations and collaborative design initiatives into our work year to keep a sense of play in the office environment.

We are looking for a Project Architect to join our team. This position will be highly independent with the possibility for rapid growth within the company and potential for partnership opportunities. This person will be responsible for:

- Leading their own projects with all client and consultant correspondance
- Assistance with managing the Nine Yards team and delegating tasks within the company
- Contributing to the overall direction of Nine Yards
- Designing, drawing and managing their own projects through all phases

Nine Yards offers medical insurance, RRSP contributions, competitive salary and yearly bonuses to all of our team members. For the position of Project Architect we are offering a salary range commensurate with experience ranging from $60 000 - $110 000 depending on years of experience.

Applicants must demonstrate they have:

- A passion for design
- 5-10 years of experience as an architect who has worked throughout all phases of design
- Experience constructing projects in Canada and knowledge of current construction methods
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience in using AutoCad, BIM (Revit) experience is an asset
