If you’ve noticed I’ve been a little quieter lately, you’re not wrong.

Like many mompreneurs, I found myself a little overcommitted this season. Between running Honey Willow, Modern Maven, volunteering, and supporting my kids through some really important stages of their lives, something had to give; and for a while, it has been my presence in the business.

Today, as I watched my youngest receive Best Junior Cadet of the Year at his squadron’s annual awards ceremony, I was reminded that I’ve been exactly where I needed to be.

One of the hardest parts of entrepreneurship is accepting that sometimes success doesn’t look like crossing every task off the list. Sometimes it looks like showing up for school events, cadet nights, family dinners, and the moments that won’t come around again.

Honey Willow and Modern Maven aren’t going anywhere. In fact, we have some exciting new arrivals hitting the websites this week and a healthy backlog of treasures waiting to be listed. We’re still here, still growing, and still incredibly grateful for your support and patience.

We’re so proud of our kiddo, excited for his future, and excited for ours too.

If I don’t know any better, I’d say the colors in this drop look like spring! Dresses, swim suits, shorts and even a Batman tank! All on the site already this morning. If you need an Easter dress, we have a few in this drop.

Yay! My kiddos went back to school today and that means, I can get back to work! We are dropping all things spring on the site this week, starting today! 40 new items, mainly big kids, but a few hidden treasures for our small friends too.

Who knew you could get so excited by a sheet 🙀 but we are loving our new backdrop. Neutral light grey with some wood grain 😍
My husband is looking at me like I’m crazy, with all the oohs and ahhhs but he can keep wondering, because I’m loving how it brings out the vibrant colors our preloved wears.

All my fellow thrifting mamas, do you get excited over little things like this too? Sometimes it really is the small subtle things that make all the difference.

The Month of the Wrong Coat.🧥

Any coat you put them in from now ’til the end of April will be the wrong coat. 😅

Puffy jacket at school drop-off.
Raincoat by recess… quickly shed and left on the playground.
Hoodie by the time they get home.

Somehow our kids start the season with 12 coats, still manage to wear the wrong one… and leave 3 at school, never to be seen again. (Thank goodness for thrift 😉)

Here’s to muddy boots🥾, lighter evenings, 🌙and layers that almost make sense. 🤍

Today I got beat by a sock puppet.

Listen. I take a lot of pictures. I can usually find creativity in a paperclip. I’ve styled everything from sequins to snowsuits.

But this Cate & Levi hand puppet?
It won.

No matter what I did, flat lay, lifestyle shot, dramatic window lighting — this little legend outperformed me. Honestly, I think it was judging me.

How would you picture this puppet?
Serious? Silly? Starring in its own soap opera?

Anyways, he… maybe she… will be up on the site this afternoon… just as soon as I lick my wounds and put a tag in it.
