I was in desperate need of a new dish drying mat and couldn't seem to find the size I was looking for. So I did what any good sewist does, I decided just to make it myself!

I had a rough idea of materials in mind but then I did some research online and saw people upcycling old towels and using them as the absorbent layer. Lucky for me I had a bin full of old towels. So I paired one with some quilt cotton from my stash and some nylon mesh as a backing and now I have the most beautiful dish drying mat I've ever seen 😍

I'm thinking of making the kids some Halloween pillow cases because what fun is it to sleep on boring pillows cases when you can have seasonal pillow cases? So now I need help on picking a pattern! Ghosts, candy, spiders? What would you pick??? 👻 🍬 🕸

As is tradition, on the 1st day where I don't have to work, the kids are back in school, and I have the house to myself, I treat myself to my first pumpkin spiced latte. This year I decided to celebrate with a fall themed coffee sleeve. I made this one with scraps left over from my fall quilt!🍁🎃☕️

Just a couple of boxy zip pouches I made for the kids to use this school year. Perfect for holding pencil crayons and felts! I even added a swivel lobster clasp in case they wanted to attach them to their backpacks! 🎒 ✏️

What's the most used item in my house? My make up remover pads!

I use them every day with micellar water and some of my face oils. Once I'm done, I pop them in the wash with my regular laundry. I've been using them for years! More absorbent than a traditional cotton pad and easy to care for. They are the best!

While this looks like a plain white blouse, if you zoom in you'll see some cute white embroidered flowers!

In the last few years I have decided that when I travel, instead of bringing home all sorts of trinkets, I would bring home fabric. This way I could make something that would remind me of my trip.

Last year my husband took me to Nova Scotia to celebrate my 40th birthday. Naturally I had to look up fabric shops where I discovered patchhalifax. I got up early one morning, walk to the store, and spent ages looking at fabrics. In the end I decided on this beautiful white cotton with embroidered flowers!

I wanted to use it to make something simple so I decided on the Seamwork Hansie Top (which is a free pattern!). I was inspired after watching Sarah Naomi make this top three different ways. I lined it with some cotton voile I had on hand and it came together very quickly!

It is such a simple and beautiful piece, and so easy to throw on. And I absolutely adore that I think of Nova Scotia every time I wear it ⛵️
