Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers, grandmothers, aunties, bonus moms, and women who carry love, strength, and care for others every single day. 🌸

Motherhood comes in many forms. Some of us are raising babies. Some are raising grown children. Some are helping raise grandchildren. Some are healing while trying to break cycles. And some are mothering through community, kindness, culture, and love.

Today I’m thinking about the women before us too… the ones who taught us resilience, survival, creativity, humour, and how to keep going even when life was heavy.

I hope today brings you softness. A good cup of coffee. A laugh. A memory. A quiet moment. Or maybe just a reminder that you are appreciated more than you know.

I’ve always believed hummingbirds carry something special…
A little visit. A little message. A reminder that someone we love is still near.

Every time I see one, I pause. I feel it. And I know I’m not alone.

This skirt was created from that feeling. 💫
Something meaningful. Something personal. Something that tells a story.

The hummingbird appliqué was done piece by piece—every detail carefully cut and fully sewn on using gold, white, burgundy, and green. No shortcuts.

The skirt carries rich ribbon tones of gold, green, burgundy, and black over a bold black floral base that brings the whole piece to life.

I just finished this loon ribbon skirt, and this one carries a really powerful feeling. 💙💙💙

The deep blues and greens were chosen to reflect water, movement, and that connection we have to the lakes. When you hear a loon call, you feel it… it travels for miles, but it hits you right in your spirit.

A strong loon leading, and beside her… a mother carrying her baby on her back in the water. Protection. Guidance. Teaching. That bond.
Water is life.

And the loon reminds us to stay connected to it, to ourselves, and to where we come from.

Teachings for the Next 7 Generations Ribbon Skirt

This is my finished sweat lodge ribbon skirt, now available.

Length is 35” and it fits small to XL. It has pockets, and every appliqué piece has been hand cut and sewn on.

This skirt tells a story. An Elder teaching a youth beside the sweat lodge. The eagle watching over. Fish drying. Ceremony, connection, and the passing on of knowledge.

Our ceremonies are about healing. But they are also about teaching. What we pass down matters for the next 7 generations. Our Elders are living libraries, and when they leave us, that knowledge can go with them if we don’t carry it forward.

The main fabric carries eagle feathers. This piece came to me after a trip back home where I saw three eagles soaring above me. That moment stayed with me. A reminder that we are never alone, and that staying connected to our ways matters.

This is more than a skirt. It’s a story you carry with heart and spirit!

Got the fire going tonight (even if it’s an electric fireplace haha) while I work, and I’ve just been getting my space set up little by little here in Coutt, Alberta.

It’s still coming together, but it already feels good in here. ❤️

I’ve been thinking a lot while working on this one.......

A few days ago I saw three eagles when I was driving out here, and that really stuck with me.

It felt like a reminder that I’m exactly where I’m supposed to be, close to the Sweet Grass Hills, and I need to honour that in my work.

This is the first story skirt I’m creating out here. ❤️🥳❤️

It’s based on sweat lodge teachings. I’ve got the eagle on the lodge, fish hanging to dry, and I’ll be adding an Elder and a youth to finish the story. That part matters to me because teachings are meant to be shared and carried on.

Ceremony has always helped me stay grounded. It teaches me to be brave, to be humble, and to keep going no matter what.

This one feels really special! 🙌

It’ll be available once it’s finished, and I know the right person will connect with it. 🙌❤️🙌❤️

Folks have been asking for an update, so I figured I’d share… even if it’s not completely done and still a bit chaotic 😅

What a difference though. From sewing in a small basement bedroom to this space.❤️

I’ve worked hard to get here.🙌

Fun fact…

Every single one of those fabric bundles on my shelf used to be a skirt. Hundreds and hundreds of them.

I save every piece and turn them into appliqués. No waste. I have even saved all my end ribbon pieces!

So every skirt I create now carries pieces of others before it.
That makes this space even more special 🔥

Now to continue organizing and setting up, because I have a bunch of dedicated followers who can't wait for me to work with them and create their story skirts!!

She Walks Into Her Power.

NFS!

This one took time. Not because I didn’t know what to create, but because my client needed space to sit with the meaning behind her skirt. And that matters. These aren’t just designs. They’re decisions.

Every element on this skirt was chosen with intention.

The strawberries placed in the smudge are an offering to Creator. Not decoration. Offering. Gratitude. Connection.

The crown of roses represents her strength, her growth, and everything she has walked through to get here.
I matched her chosen fabric directly to the skirt worn by the woman in the design. That part was important to me. When she sees herself in this piece, I want her to feel it fully. Not just wear it.

All appliqué on this skirt were designed and sewn on by me. No shortcuts. No iron-ons. Just old-school work and a whole lot of care.

This skirt is already spoken for and heading to Alberta.

And I’ll say this again because it matters. These skirts are not just made. They are built with story, intention, and honour.

This skirt was created as a custom piece for a client.

She carries powerful medicine.
Moon medicine.

The full cycle. The phases we move through as women.

She shared her spirit names with me:
Healing Rainbow Woman.
She Who Walks the Path of the Thunderbirds.

She had never had a skirt that carried both parts of who she is.

When she came to me with her vision, this is the design I created for her.

A starry night main fabric to reflect the sky and hold the full moon phases.
A lightning bolt running through the center.
Two Thunderbirds standing strong.
Rainbow ribbons flowing through the base to represent healing and life force.

Every part of this skirt was created with intention to bring her names together into one piece. This is what custom work means to me.

Creating something that reflects who you are, where you’ve been, and what you carry.

I currently have two custom skirts left to complete. After that, I will be focusing on my next collection. ♥️
