Ever stare at your ribbon stash for 30 minutes, convinced every colour looks wrong... then somehow they all look right? 😂

If you've ever been stuck trying to figure out ribbon colours, main fabric colours, or what colours would look best with your appliqué design, go check out the WS Colors app.

It's packed with colour palettes and combinations that can get those creative ideas flowing. I've had way too much fun playing with it!

Fair warning... you might end up planning five new skirts instead of sewing the one you're supposed to be working on. 🤭

Every once in a while, a hummingbird or a blue jay appears at just the right moment.

For me, they've always felt like gentle reminders from someone I love who has passed on. A quiet little visit that says, I'm still with you. Whether that's how you see them too, or you simply love these beautiful birds, I wanted this skirt to capture that feeling of comfort, hope, and connection.

This one-of-a-kind ribbon skirt features a soft lavender main fabric, a stained glass-inspired panel, shimmering silver rickrack, and a hummingbird and blue jay brought to life through my appliqué work.

The Ones Who Visit 🐦

Sneak peek... 💜

I've been taking a little break from my Sacred Fire designs because my heart wanted to create something different. Something a little quieter. Something deeply personal.

For as long as I can remember, hummingbirds and blue jays have been my favourite birds. Every time one crosses my path, I can't help but feel it's a gentle hello from someone I love who has passed on. Whether it's a coincidence or something more, they always seem to arrive when I need the reminder that love never truly leaves us.

I've been wanting to create this design for a long time, and I'm absolutely in love with how it's coming together. The vibrant birds, the beautiful lavender fabric, and the rich shades of blue and purple make this one feel so peaceful and full of life. I really love how the silver rickrack makes the inner panel really pop!

This skirt is called The Ones Who Visit.

She will be one of a kind and will never be recreated.

Once she's finished, she'll be available on a first come, first served basis and custom made to your waist and length measurements. At this point it can fit a medium to XXL. Length is approximately 36".

A Gentle Note About Respecting Artists 🎨

To this wonderful community,
As my page continues to grow, I wanted to share something that is very important to me.

Every ribbon skirt I create begins with an idea, a story, and many hours of designing, planning, cutting, and sewing. While ribbon skirts themselves are a beautiful cultural art form shared by many talented makers, the original designs and artwork I create are my own creative expression.

If one of my designs inspires you and you would like to recreate it, I simply ask that you reach out and ask first.

To me, that's the respectful way artists support one another. A conversation and a little courtesy go a long way.

I also know that once photos are shared online, watermarks can sometimes be removed and designs can be copied. I can't control that, but I do believe in the integrity of this amazing community.

If you ever happen to come across one of my original designs being copied or claimed by someone else without permission, I would truly appreciate you letting me know.

Your support helps protect the time, heart, and creativity that goes into every piece I make.

Ocean Breeze, Heart Berries & Bears 💜🍓🐻🌺

Every custom ribbon skirt begins with a conversation.

Sometimes we change fabrics because the first one just doesn't feel right. Sometimes a design evolves as the story unfolds. That's exactly what happened with this one, and I'm so grateful we trusted the process.

This one-of-a-kind wedding ribbon skirt was created for a bride who wanted to honour her culture while celebrating her marriage on the beautiful beaches of Kauaʻi, Hawaii.

Together, we chose this rich orchid purple with cascading ribbons that flow like ocean waves, giving the skirt movement, lightness, and just the right amount of shimmer for her special day.

Along the hem, I added a beautiful bear ribbon trim to symbolize both the bride and groom, while a bear nestled among the strawberries in the corner became a quiet reminder of her spirit and the story she wanted this skirt to tell.

Every stitch was sewn with love, and every design choice was made with purpose.

This ribbon skirt will never be recreated. It was designed exclusively for one bride and one wedding day. Some pieces carry a sacredness that belongs to one story, one family, and one moment in time. I believe those stories should remain uniquely theirs.

Creating wearable stories like this is one of the greatest honours of what I do. Thank you for trusting me to create something so deeply personal for such an important chapter in your life.

To the beautiful bride and groom, I wish you a lifetime filled with love, laughter, strength, and countless adventures together. May your marriage be blessed with joy, peace, and a love that grows deeper with each passing year.

✨ A One-of-a-Kind Journey to Washington, D.C. ✨

This ribbon skirt is unlike any I've ever created.

I was honoured to be commissioned by the National Indian Health Board to transform part of their conference logo into a one-of-a-kind ribbon skirt that will be gifted away at their annual conference in Washington, D.C. this August.

Every detail you see was individually designed, cut, and sewn by hand from the original artwork they entrusted me with. There are no printed panels or shortcuts. Just many, many hours of careful planning, fabric appliqué, stitching, and bringing their vision to life in cloth.

This skirt is not for sale, and I will never recreate this design. It belongs to the National Indian Health Board and to the special person who will receive it.

There is something incredibly meaningful about creating a piece that tells someone else's story while leaving a little piece of your own heart in every stitch.

Thank you to the National Indian Health Board for trusting me with such an important commission. It has truly been an honour.

I just wanted to pop on here and say THANK YOU! ❤️

The love on my page lately has been absolutely unbelievable. I've been trying to answer every comment, message, and email... but my computer has apparently decided it's entering retirement. 😂

If you've messaged me and I haven't replied yet, please forgive me! I'm a one-woman operation over here.

My days currently consist of:
• Driving a couple of hours to hunt down ribbon and fabric.
• Sewing like my life depends on it.
• Answering messages.
• Trying to convince my computer to load before Christmas.
• Stopping every 17 minutes because my kitty Be***rs has decided it's cuddle o'clock and clearly that's more important than working. 🐈

I'm working through orders first come, first served, and I'm doing my absolute best to get back to everyone as quickly as I can.

If I accidentally missed your message, please send it again. I promise I'm not ignoring you... I'm just somewhere between the fabric store, the sewing machine, and my cat's full-time biscuit-making schedule. 😂
