ANNOUNCEMENT
Hello friends, I’ve had to make the difficult decision to CLOSE the shop. My last day open with regular hours will be SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 22, 2026.
Between rising costs of products, shipping charges and tariffs, service fees that go along with running a business like bookkeeping and insurance, keeping the store profitable continued to be a challenge. My dedication to keeping prices low and offering discounts to educators and forest school families is something I’m proud of, but also makes the viability of a business trickier. My hat goes off to everyone currently in the grind of running a small business and making it work!
It's been a truly wonderful experience operating a kids shop in Cumberland. The daily conversations I get to have with people who stop by to shop or chat have continuously inspired me. Being entrusted to sell beautiful handmade items from local makers and to work collaboratively with local artists and authors has been an absolute highlight for me. The amount of talent in our community blows me away!
From picking out beautiful books and cute things for my shop to working with local small businesses to host events and customer appreciation days, to supporting local charities and community groups like YANA, Cumberland Community School Society and the Cumberland Community Forest society- it's been a magical and also a meaningful experience. I feel very lucky to have had this experience.
**What you need to know**- everything will be on sale. BOOKS, PUZZLES , ART SUPPLIES and RAIN GEAR are currently on sale, more will go on sale in the next couple of weeks.
I would really appreciate your support in the next month at the shop as I clear it out - this is a great time to stock up on birthday gifts, Christmas and Hanukkah gifts, art supplies, gifts for teachers and classrooms and rain gear for future needs.
Gift cards should be used soon, but will still be honoured and useable to make purchases through the store website.
Please shop local, shop the sale, please tag and share the sales/posts to friends and families and educators so they can come by and get a deal as well!
