Forget Black Friday. Let's make it a Colourful Friday. 🩷🧡💚💜
Those big box store discounts look tempting, don't they? But here's what they don't tell you: those rock-bottom prices come from mass production, compromised quality, and supply chains that stretch around the world. The "savings" often mean something breaks in six months instead of lasting for years.
🌟Our community is brimming with talented makers creating something better. When you buy handmade from local artisans, you're getting something real: pieces crafted with skill and care, materials chosen for quality not just cost, and work that someone poured their heart into. You're paying for what it's genuinely worth—no gimmicks, no fake markups to make a sale look better, just honest value.
🔷And here's the beautiful part: your money stays here. It pays for your neighbour's rent, their kids' hockey registration, their next batch of materials. They spend it at local shops, which supports other neighbours, and the cycle continues. You're not just buying a product—you're investing in your own community.
💙This season, choose colour over chaos. Choose quality over quick deals. Choose connection.
Support local makers. Build something lasting.

You know who you are 🥰

You know who you are 🥰

Today, we want to celebrate the unsung heroes of the maker community—the friends, family, and partners who make it all possible. 💙

You're there for the late nights and the early mornings. You help with setup and breakdown, lift and carry, pack and unpack. You turn hastily scribbled sketches into custom displays that showcase work perfectly. You give up weekends and family time, offer the fresh perspective when we're stuck, and believe in us when we doubt ourselves. You hold down the fort at home, manage the details, and encourage creativity every step of the way.

Behind every successful show day is someone who made it happen. You're the reason our makers can do what they love—turn their passion into a livelihood, build their dreams, and connect with customers and community. Your support shines through in every booth and every handmade piece.

So here's to you—the support people who keep the heart of our creative community beating. Not always seen, but ever present. You are very much appreciated.
We declare today to be Makers' Support People Appreciation Day! 💙

Take a moment today to thank your support person, and share this with someone who makes your creative work possible.

🎉 WOW! That Was Incredible! 🎉
What an amazing show! Nova Scotia, you truly showed up, and we are so grateful!

My heartfelt thanks begin with each and every one of YOU who came out over these two wonderful days to support our incredibly talented makers. You burst through the doors when we opened, and you just kept coming—not even Saturday's miserable weather could hold you back!

Your energy, enthusiasm, and feedback were truly heartwarming. It meant the world to see so many shopping bags leaving full of handmade treasures and to hear how much you enjoyed the experience. Thank you for supporting Nova Scotia's vibrant maker community!

🎟️ 50/50 Raffle Success: $2,918 Raised! 🎟️
Congratulations to Marisa Baldwin, who won $1,459! The remaining $1,459 will be donated to Spay Day Nova Scotia. Thank you all for making this donation possible! 🐾

🤝 Thank You to Our Partners 🤝
To everyone at Cedar Event Centre—thank you for welcoming us back once again. We're proud to have been the first craft show ever held at the Centre, and we look forward to returning each year.

💙 Huge thanks to Colin Dillon, Da Silva Gosse Group, for your generous support of our daily Early Bird Shopper giveaway. Community support like this allows us to keep improving while keeping admission free.

Thanks also to Councillor Kathryn Morse for her support, and to Opus Cafe for serving delicious food and donating $200 to the Northwest Community Food Bank from event proceeds. ☕🍽️

A special shoutout to the kind person who answered our call when a shopper's car battery died—standing in the pouring rain with jumper cables to help a stranger. If that's not the most Nova Scotia thing ever, I don't know what is! This is the heart of our community—people who show up for each other without a second thought. ❤️

⭐ Our Amazing Volunteers ⭐
A massive thank you to our incredible volunteers who handled setup and teardown, expertly managed everything in the foyer, ran the raffle, welcomed shoppers, and provided booth coverage for our makers: Keith, Carolyn, Ann, Marla, Matt, Lilah, Pam, Melanie, Kevin, Nadia, Brenda, Meghan, and the SpayDay volunteers who spent the day selling raffle tickets, cat toys, and calendars!
Your smiling faces and tireless work made everything run smoothly. You are the true stars!

🎨 To Our Makers 🎨
Thank you for the countless hours you've dedicated to creating, baking, painting, and crafting. Your passion shines through in every piece, and I'm deeply grateful for the energy and artistry you brought to this show. It was both a pleasure and a privilege to spend time with you.

There's one more thank you that deserves the spotlight all on its own. Stay tuned tomorrow!

Thank you ALL for supporting Handmade, Heartfelt, Local.

With immense gratitude,
Miranda Jordan, Show Director
