📚 PART-TIME BOOKKEEPER WANTED — DEER LAKE

Byron’s Outpost and Byron's Industrial are looking for an experienced, reliable part-time bookkeeper to help keep our financial records accurate and up to date.

This position will normally require approximately 3–5 hours per week, or 12–20 hours per month. Some additional hours may be available initially while we bring outstanding bookkeeping up to date.

The position will begin on Tuesday, September 8, 2026—the day after Labour Day. Hours are flexible within 8 am and 5 pm, and can be any day of the week.

The work is completed using the MIC accounting and point-of-sale system. MIC is a fully manual, locally installed system—not cloud-based—so transactions and reports must be entered and processed carefully. Previous MIC experience would be a major asset, but we will consider an experienced bookkeeper who is comfortable learning a new system.

Responsibilities will include:

• Entering supplier invoices and inventory receipts
• Completing bank, credit card and other account reconciliations
• Reviewing daily cash reports and ensuring they are entered correctly
• Recording customer account payments and point-of-sale activity
• Ensuring bills and other payments are properly recorded
• Identifying and correcting posting errors
• Working accurately with the business’s chart of accounts
• Helping bring outstanding bookkeeping records up to date
• Performing other regular bookkeeping duties as needed

The successful applicant should have:

• Previous bookkeeping experience
• Strong knowledge of debits, credits and chart-of-accounts classifications
• Experience working with a business that carries inventory
• Experience with both account customers and point-of-sale transactions
• Strong reconciliation and problem-solving skills
• Excellent accuracy, organization and attention to detail
• The ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality
• MIC system experience, although preferred, is not mandatory

This is an on-site position in Deer Lake with flexible scheduling. Compensation is expected to begin at approximately $20 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
