Looking for recommendations for cool storefronts in Canada that would be interested in carrying my children's apparel line. I have my new wholesale line sheet ready to send by email. This is just the coverpage for it, but the rest of the document includes pricing, fabric choices, products and sizes, etc. 😊

I have Dryden covered and a potential location already in Vermilion Bay and Sioux Lookout, but open to others in the general area and beyond.

Please share. I've got my sewing studio reset up and looking forward to once again sharing my items and rebrand with the country before I closed temporarily in 2022.

Thanks so much! πŸ˜ŠπŸ–€

(Website coming soon!)

"All of our apparel and accessories are created in the Birdie sewing studio here in Dryden. We spend many hours carefully crafting orders by hand to ensure you'll be happy with each piece you order. We only use high quality, certified organic and/or recycled, earth friendly fabrics. The organic cotton is printed on demand for us with water based inks - each order we place with the manufacturer is custom printed for us, so none goes to waste! We also utilize bamboo and h**p fabrics, pretty cool! All of our fabrics we source are pesticide and chemical free.

Our Birdie Handmade promise to you is that each garment is made with love and will be the comfiest addition to a little one's closet because we choose the softest, most snuggly fabrics! We pride ourselves on only offering the very best for the newest generations!" πŸ‘ΆπŸŒΏ

Still have some spots remaining. 😊 Only a bit longer to sign up before I need to order supplies. πŸ–€ If you have a child interested in cool arts, crafts, sewing, baking, and frozen treats/smoothies, this is a very cool opportunity! All supplies included in the price, they just need to show up for the classes. 😊

I have also gotten a lot of interest in a younger age group session (ages 3-4) and/or a "mommy n' me" session. If you would be interested in this type of session, please email me at [email protected] or message me. This course would be the same concept but some activities would instead be geared for younger children and/or a shorter time frame.

This fall/winter I'm offering a 24 week children's course focused on overall individual mind + body wellness inside of my new storefront location (formerly Little Mod Nest - please see my previous post for more information!). This is a cool opportunity as an alternative extracuricular activity those who prefer something other than sports. We'll be introducing a variety of activities within the wellness and arts industry. From smoothie making to expressive self portraits.

If you know of anyone with littles that would be interested in making some pretty rad artwork and plant based treats, send them my way! Please share this post as well incase someone sees it who may be interested.

We're going to have a Sip N' Show at the end of the course for the families to see what the children have made and learned. 😊

I have limited spaces available in both age groups for sign up to ensure I can provide a more one on one experience for everyone (and a quieter environment to stay true to the wellness theme of the course).

ABOUT ME
Hello! My name is Morgan. I am a mom to 4 children and a lifelong resident of Dryden. Some of my passions include camping, creating artwork, and making interesting healthy meals. I operated a family wellness boutique, Little Mod Nest, for about 5 years in downtown Dryden until I chose to close the doors in 2022 due to the pandemic. I am reopening my storefront this fall as a family wellness collective and expanding my services to include a juice bar as well as use the new space for creative family classes.

This fall/winter I am offering a children's wellness course that encompasses a variety of topics in art, mindfulness, and healthy plant based foods. I have been home juicing for over a decade and posting my smoothies and plant based treats on social media for many years as well. I have completed courses through the Goodnature School of Juice and looking forward to use my expansion to share my passion for unique, healthy fruit/veggie creations with younger NWO generations like I have with my own children.

As a child I was always looking for activities other than only sports and have always had great interest in wellness, so I'm hoping I can help foster those interests for children in our community who may relate in the same way - please reach out with any questions!

Look at these cute itty bitty 0-6 month custom lounge sets a customer recently requested. Just have a few small things to finish but these sets are on their way out of town shortly.

I'm doing a bit of rebranding and separating the identity of my new storefront location from my children's apparel brand for a few different reasons (but not completely separated!).

I have a website coming soon with more details and for ordering from (orders can be placed before the website opens as well), but you'll also be able to view my items in person when I open the physical location. As always, made only from high quality, super soft organic cotton and bamboo. πŸ–€

They're baaaack! My original itty bitty grow with me pants!

A couple of months ago I got my hands on this amazing textured European organic waffle knit fabric and today I finally made something with it. These are 0-6 months. πŸ–€ The waistband and ankle bands fold up and down to accommodate a custom fit for the baby (that's why 1 ankle is folded in this photo). πŸ–€

I have waffle knit available in a few different colors and organic cotton knit for the main piece of the pants available in multiple fabric designs. I'll post some fabric options tonight for orders to complete this week.

Oh hi. It's me.. πŸ‘€πŸŒΏ

It's me for the first time in a year and a half. I privately have not been overly well for quite some time after an epidural gone wrong in 2019 and I feel absolutely awful about not posting or keeping in contact with you all. I've been in a bit of survival mode the last 5 years but specifically the last 2 years and I'm just now starting to get back to myself and take control of my health.

If any of you have messaged me as a customer or a business and are waiting a reply, I truly apologize and likely haven't seen it due to notification issues or have forgotten to respond during all of the health chaos. I promise to get through them in the next little bit. You are all so amazing and supportive of me and I am so appreciative of your patience.πŸ–€

I am writing today with some exciting news that the birdies (and myself) are back! πŸ¦β€β¬›

I've been keeping this secret and it's terrifying but it's what my soul is meant to do. Though a bit scary, I've truly never felt more relieved and joyous to finally make this announcement.

I'm reopening and expanding my business. I've secretly been bogged down by utter sadness and heartbreak since I closed my storefront doors in May 2022. If there's anything I've learned over the last several years since my daughter Olive's birth gone wrong and some incidents and losses that followed is that both your health and waking up tomorrow is never guaranteed. So follow your heart before it's too late. I couldn't stand to wait around any longer to move forward, because I've realized there's simply never going to be a perfect time or a perfect space but there's someone looking back at me in the mirror that is the perfect one to make it work even when everything has fallen apart - this is what I know how to do well and there's obviously a reason I can't imagine my life without it (I think I can maybe sew baby pants with my eyes closed?!). The last 6 years have been exceptionally difficult for me physically, mentally, and emotionally but I refuse to have the outcome of my circumstances from those situations and the pandemic define me or my business and its success.

I'll try to be brief. I signed a lease in July in a space that I can do mostly everything I want to do out of. I'm starting from rock bottom again with my business after closing in 2022. But that doesn't mean I'm not going to succeed at climbing back up to where I was and where I deserve to be after so much hard work and late nights spent sewing/making literally thousands of bibs, pants, beanies, shirts, and teething necklaces. I've seen first hand what an outstanding supportive community we have when it comes to my little business that I literally built with my bare hands from my kitchen table 10 years ago. πŸ–€

From a single organic baby beanie on that little wooden table in 2014 to a little retail space in 2018 to a larger retail space in 2019 followed by a full storefront closure and shattered heart in 2022 due to the pandemic. Now a decade later since that first beanie, everything is coming full circle as I begin to sew a single first beanie again to rebuild stock for a family wellness collective + JUICE BAR EXPANSION. ✨️ I could cry. This has been a dream of mine for so long and many of you don't know how much I adore juice bars, beautiful smoothie bowls, and chia pudding topped with shredded coconut and way too much almond butter. πŸ˜‚ Almost as much as I love making a pair of baby pants with out of the ordinary contrasting fabrics...almost. haha.

I'll proudly shout it from the rooftops that NWO is missing out on such a gem as a juice bar. If you know, you know! 🍎😍

My quirky little brain has some quirky little plans in the works for the next few months. Those that know me, know what I mean about me going against the grain from the day I was born! And maybe to someone on the outside it looks plain old crazy. haha - but that's ok with me, we're the world changers.

I'll update more soon about location, opening dates, branding, etc. πŸ₯°πŸ₯πŸπŸ‰πŸ₯‘ In the meantime I'll be building muscle in my arms by ripping up flooring and painting walls and renovating. πŸ˜… Today is day one instead of continuing to say one day!

The included graphic has some information on something I'm offering this fall/winter to help me grow the shop again (you may have to click on it to see the whole thing, sorry!). πŸŽ¨πŸ–Œ If you know of anyone with littles that would be interested in making some pretty rad art and plant based treats, send them my way! We're going to have a Sip N' Show at the end of it all for the families to see what they've made and learned. 😊 I have limited spaces available in both age groups for sign up to ensure I can provide a more one on one experience for everyone (and a quieter environment to stay true to the wellness theme of the course).

I have some pretty cool future stuff planned for the mama's, too. πŸ–€

PS. I purposely didn't put "Little Mod Nest" as an official name on this graphic because things are really changing. πŸ‘€

Talk soon.

01/25/2023

Oh hi. It's me. Posting a real update for the first time since October. 😬 I've honestly been in a rut that I haven't seemed to be able to crawl out of. Just feeling overall bummed about my storefront closure in May 2022. My heart is so into this business and it's what my soul really craves to do with my life, but circumstances from the pandemic have forced me to change the path I was headed on. And I've realized now that it's ok. It doesn't mean it's over. It just means I'm going to have to take a more difficult path to reopen.

Just wanted to let you all know I am still here (especially those of you with gift cards!) and I will be working hard this year to make my expansion dreams a reality.

I have scary changes ahead of me. I saw these quotes a few days ago that solidified my decision to move forward with what I know I want for my business and have been debating on for a while. I need to leave my worries and concerns and judgement from others about it in the past. I don't want to look back at 80 years old and wonder what could have been just because someone who isn't of the same lifestyle or mindset told me they don't think it'll work. The first rocket ship, submarine, and cellphone probably sounded crazy too.

I always seem to have a bad case of imposter syndrome and I'm always second guessing and doubting my abilities and it puts me in frozen mode. I get stuck in a paralysis cycle of not doing a single thing to move forward because I don't feel like I should in fear of being judged more. When in reality I've recently realized what better person than me to be accomplishing what I want to do when I know I'm already armed with the knowledge, skills, and talent to do it?

My business circumstances throughout covid and when I got very sick after my daughter Olive was born 4 years ago do not define the path my business and my years of sleepless nights and hard work deserve to take.

Growth doesn't come from our comfort zones and it surely doesn't come from remaining exactly what we are in this moment. Prayers for my self confidence please... πŸ˜… I'm on a wild journey in 2023.

πŸ₯πŸŽπŸ₯‘πŸ₯’πŸ₯πŸ‰πŸ₯•πŸ₯€

PS. I will respond to your messages tomorrow. And will of course post more here. 🩷
