Little Dashing Darling

There have been lots of changes in the studio since October.⁣
⁣
I recently had an opportunity professionally using my financial skills and has forced me to rethink LDD and step back into employment.⁣
⁣⁣⁣
It’s been six years in business and a labour of love. The ladies that have been involved, their talents along with the opportunity to do life with them on a daily basis were also a huge blessing. We appreciate all your orders and support and thankful that we were never short of demand. It used to amaze us with our made to order process how orders used to keep on coming day by day. ⁣
⁣
Ethical clothing is not a choice for every family whilst I believe we can all make steps in the right direction the world around us doesn’t make it easy for us. We found that there wasn’t an appetite for our products locally and so Etsy and our website have enabled us to reach what seems like every corner of the earth. St Martins, Saudi Arabia and Crete to name some of the more unusual locations but across Canada and USA being our core and trusted market. We are so thankful for the online community here, the follows, likes and shares and orders and the trusted couriers. Thankful for the photographers and the collaborations that have showcased our creations beyond what we could imagine over the years. Thankful for our studio space and my father in law and husband that had the vision and created this for us from and old garage in our backyard. ⁣⁣

The bottom line is even with the efficiency in our process and our sales prices, the only way this would continue to be worthwhile financially with rising costs is to increase the volume or sale prices. I didn’t want to do either of those options and continue to compete with the big brands. We closed the website in October when I stepped away from the studio into employment but have now made the decision to close Little Dashing Darling and the website entirely. We have one order left to sew! It’s kinda sad but it also feels like the right direction for us.⁣

It may have been small but it was definitely mighty! ⁣⁣

I had such a wonderful evening celebrating these ladies. They have a special place in my heart and the little dashing darling journey. It was such a blessing working and doing life with these ladies. I do miss our studio days but a new chapter is upon us. ♥️🎄🙏🏻♥️

I have some big changes to share with you. ⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
LDD has been in business since early 2017. ⁣
⁣
So many things to be thankful for, such as;
⁣⁣⁣
❣️ doing life with the amazing ladies involved in LDD.
⁣⁣⁣
❣️the demand and support we have had from our customers.
⁣⁣
❣️dressing up your littles and being a small part of your special days and memories.
⁣⁣⁣
❣️flexibility to be around my family when it mattered and when the children were young. ⁣⁣⁣

⁣This said, my heart hasn’t been in it for a while. In part due to the amount of hours invested verses the bottom line profitability > along with the rising prices of linen and shipping > weighed against the benefit of flexibility it provides my family that has been reducing as the children grow older. ⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
I had an opportunity present itself, so perfect in timing and everything else. Truly a gift from God. It will be building on my career in financial management, this time for a local not for profit society. It’s a path with a purpose. It’s going to be a different kind of hard work and responsibility and feeling excited about this new season!⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
It’s time for something new and decisions which have not been taken lightly;⁣
⁣
❣️ Etsy LDD shop will be closing today, whilst ensuring we process all existing orders.⁣
⁣
❣️ There will be price changes on website items over the coming days which will reflect the recent price increases. ⁣
⁣⁣⁣
I am going to TRY and keep the website open and the ladies will be available to sew your orders. Given my priority and commitment outside of the business it may change if the administration becomes a burden to maintain OR if the ladies can’t continue to sew for any reason. It needs to run seamlessly… excuse the pun!⁣⁣⁣

LDD is a chapter that is going to have a very special place in my heart, for more reasons than one. ⁣💝⁣
⁣⁣
I also want to give some BIG THANKS in greater detail over the coming weeks including the special people involved that I quite simply couldn’t have done this without them. ⁣⁣⁣

This is my morning view. ⁣

We know the behind the scenes isn’t always what is seems and often messy. I have been working through the last season and praying into the next chapter as I feel a shift happening in this space and not sure what that looks like yet. ⁣

I am thankful for those that have responded to the sewing workshop or been excited for the news.
