🐝📚 A Little Peek Behind the Scenes… 📚🐝

David is busy preparing for a presentation at a small school in Hanover this week, and we’ve been having a lot of fun putting together activity packages for the students.

As we were gathering materials, we pulled out something we haven’t looked at in a while—our Hive Thrive Collectors Game! Along with our bee-themed bookmarks and educational cards, it reminded us of a project that was created to help children learn about bees, pollination, and the important role honey bees play in our world.

Sometimes the best ideas get tucked away while life gets busy on the farm, in the bee yard, and at the boutique. Seeing these again has us wondering if they deserve a place in our Hive Collection after all.

These woodland-inspired candles feature incredible details and are made from our own beeswax right here on the farm. Each one is unique and handcrafted with care.

🌿 We Want Your Thoughts 🌿

One of the hardest parts of starting a new business is choosing hours that work well for both our customers and our family life.

We want to make sure our time at the shop is being invested well, while also balancing life at home on the farm, caring for animals, and continuing to create new handmade products for the boutique 🤍

Right now our planned hours have been:
✨ Friday evenings
✨ Saturdays
✨ Sundays

However, we’ve noticed Sundays have been much quieter, and we would truly love your feedback.

We’ve also had several people ask if we will eventually be open during the week. This is definitely something we are working toward as we continue to grow! We hope to move toward some weekday hours later in June. At this time, the boutique is still primarily run by the kids, so we are slowly finding the balance that works best for everyone.

One of my absolute favourite things in the boutique are these beautiful handwritten cards 🤍

There is something incredibly special about taking the time to write words of encouragement, support, love, or gratitude to someone. In a world that moves so quickly, a handwritten note can truly become a gift someone keeps forever.

What makes these cards even more meaningful is the beautiful artwork on the front of each one. They feel personal, heartfelt, and full of warmth — exactly the kind of pieces we love sharing at Farm Descendants Boutique.

If there is one thing this little boutique has been blessed with, it is the creativity and talents of so many of the children who have grown up around our family over the years 🤍

I never imagined one of my children would end up with such a natural green thumb, but Lexi truly has a gift for bringing life, beauty, and warmth into every space she touches.

Her creativity shines in so many ways, especially through her love for plants and her eye for the little details that make any space feel cozy and welcoming. She has always had a special ability to make things feel warm and inviting wherever she goes.

Honestly, I think this gift comes from my Gramps 🌿

In addition to creating many of the handmade pieces you’ll find throughout the boutique, Shannon also helps behind the scenes with our social media and will often be one of the friendly faces welcoming you when you walk through our doors 🤍
