Some projects carry a little more weight than others.

This leather case was made for Tom as he heads off to kindergarten this fall. Inside, it will carry something far more important than leather or thread—his EpiPen.

His requests were simple:
Blue.
A red and white longhorn.
And, of course, his name.

As a maker, you hope every piece you create brings joy. This one also carries a quiet hope...

That it spends its entire life being opened only for practice; never because it’s needed.

Wishing Tom a wonderful first year of kindergarten and many adventures ahead.

Tricerapony.

Some people have normal hobbies.
I now make face plates for Shetland ponies. 🤣

Despite a head cold, almost no sleep, and 34°C heat, Ruby climbed aboard our prehistoric pony and together we made it through the Dino Days Parade.

I’d call that a success.

Now, if you’ll excuse us, I think Tricerapony has earned a nap in the shade and so have we.

People are often surprised by how much goes into a weekend like this.

Truthfully...
I’m just following the enthusiasm of a five-year-old.

As long as she keeps asking to camp, wake up before the sun, ride ponies, and spend her weekends at horse shows...

I’ll keep packing the trailer. 💛

I don’t go to Big Flat Folk Fest for the music.
There, I said it. 🤣

I go for the SHOPPING!

And the funny thing about being a vendor is that we quite often spend most of the money we make… with the other vendors.

Basically, we’re all just passing the same $20 bill around and going home with better stuff.
