Yesterday’s dust storm hit different.
90 km winds and I didn’t even take photos, that’s how heavy it felt.

At one point I looked outside and saw the wind board in the yard blown over, the eavestrough dangling, trees falling, and a new ferruginous hawk Momma trying to shield her babies from the storm. I just closed the curtains and hunkered down.

Maybe it’s the stomach flu that’s rolled through our house talking, but hearing we may be without power for three days honestly hit me hard today.

Prairie life can be beautiful, but sometimes it asks a lot from you.

Keep buying those scratch tickets, Lee.
