A personal note to my brides and followers.
After much consideration, I have decided to discontinue all engagement with bridal boutiques and bridal retailers through this page. I have also chosen not to participate in communications between brides and bridal stores.
This decision comes from years of experience and from a growing difference in professional philosophy. My standards for measuring, fit, garment construction, and bridal alterations often do not align with the practices I encounter.
One of the greatest misconceptions in the bridal industry is that alterations are a simple final step in the process. In reality, alterations are often what determine whether a gown truly fits, flatters, and functions as intended. The work requires technical expertise, extensive experience, problem solving, and countless hours of skilled craftsmanship.
Yet brides are frequently given unrealistic expectations about what alterations involve, what they cost, and what can be achieved after a dress has been ordered. Too often, I find myself correcting preventable issues that began long before a gown arrived in my studio.
As bridal seamstresses and alteration specialists, we carry one of the most significant responsibilities in the wedding process. We are entrusted with the final fit of the most important garment many women will ever wear. That responsibility deserves recognition, respect, and a realistic understanding of the expertise involved.
For this reason, I kindly ask my brides not to involve me in discussions, negotiations, or disputes with bridal boutiques. My role is to provide expert alterations, honest guidance, and the highest standard of service possible. I am not a representative of any retailer, nor do I wish to act as an intermediary between brides and stores.
My focus remains on craftsmanship, education, proper fit, and advocating for brides. That is where my energy belongs and where it will remain.
Thank you for your understanding and for respecting this boundary.
