Today, our post isn’t a typical Mother’s Day post (but we sincerely wish all of you mammas are having a special day). It is an Angel Story kind of day and it happens to be Mother’s Day.

I got a text this morning from someone who holds a very special place in my heart. She knows the angels well. I suspect her hands have made more angels with us than we could count. So when she told me she needed 10 angels today - of course it was as an immediate “yes”.

It was one of those situations that warranted a hand delivery of the angels. Time was of the essence. ❤️

Of course I happened to have 10 aqua coloured crystals- because that was the colour she was hoping for.

Of course when I put my hand in the stash and pulled out a few - there were 10 crystals without me even having to count them. Not 9 and not 11… TEN.

Of course they came together seamlessly. And quickly. And of course they were delivered in time.

How does it work so beautifully? I used to say I didn’t know - it was a big mystery. But when the angels are truly needed - it always goes this way. Effortlessly.

I know the answer now. I finally understand. God’s Will. His Grace. His Love. You couldn’t convince me otherwise. Little miracles that really aren’t so little. He wanted these angels to be delivered in time.

So the angels are now in her hands and she’ll be sharing them with her family as they grieve together.

Their loss is going to be immense. A mother, a grandmother. Someone who was loved dearly.

Tonight I’m sending so much love and light to her and her entire family.

And I’m humbled yet again at what “mom”, “mother”, “mama”, and “maja” means. How very blessed I’ve been. How very grateful I am.

Let’s talk jewelry making materials and design elements…

In fact… let’s do a whole series on this because it’s kinda intriguing! Maybe you’ve never thought about it much but it’s been such a fun learning experience for me over the past 15 years, I’d love to share some of that with you! ❤️

Let’s start with an easy one. CHARMS! They’re a massive trend this year. Charm bracelets, charm necklaces, charmed purse dangles… you name it!

They’re typically made with a metal base. High end will be solid gold (of course) but with gold prices as they are, silver and plated metals are the usual go to unless you’re shopping for fine jewelry.

❣️ Fun fact - even the fine jewellers are incorporating plated metals into their inventory (you’ll see it called “vermeil”) so be sure to ask before you buy 🧐

If you can dream it - there’s likely a charm out there for it. Symbols, numbers, letters, nature-themed, enamelled (with colour), mixed metals, stamped, engraved… you name it… I can usually find it! And yes, I do custom requests ALL the time!

But… I always have to be aware of things like size differential (size of charm in relation to size of angel/chain link size etc.) metal colour tone, sharp edges, weight, and more.

So the next time you see a charm bracelet, look at it though this designer’s lens - you might just love it (or critique it) even more that at first glance 😁

Upon special request… we are opening the vault on our previous Limited Edition Christmas Angel Ornaments!

We thought many of them were completely sold out but we went hunting for a single 2019 ornament for someone and found the JACKPOT! Several of our vintage ornaments have been added back to the shop and we reduced the prices too!

We have a few 2017, 2018, 2019, (ONE) 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024 ornaments but they are selling out very quickly as people are filling in their collections from the years they missed out on.

We were so touched that both D and T reached out about the ones they were missing in their collections and I’m grateful that this prompted me to go digging deep for as many I could find. I truly hope this helps more of you complete your collections too ❤️

We have gone through the entire Kemba/Angels stash (we were looking for a single left over 2019 angel ornament) and we found the jackpot…

A BUNCH of past ornaments from years gone by - including a few of the much-loved 2019’s.

I was overjoyed. Some people have started collecting a little later than others and want to catch up. Some people want to commemorate a special year but they missed out on that year’s ornament. So… I was so happy to find these long lost ornaments to offer you (again). It’s like opening the vault and there’s a LOT of history here.

The prices have all been reduced, too 😉😘

“Safe Beneath My Wing” - the 2025 Special Edition Angel Ornament is now available for pre-order. There will only be 50 made ❤️ and we hope you love it!

Here’s the story behind this year’s design… It is the 10th ornament in the series (can you believe it?)

There are moments in our lives when we find ourselves yearning for comfort—something gentle to hold onto when the world feels heavy or uncertain. This special Angel was created to remind us all that we are never walking alone… that even in seasons of heartache, uncertainty, or transition, there is always a presence of love, protection, and quiet strength surrounding us.

This year’s special edition angel, “Safe Beneath My Wing,” was created with that intention stitched into every detail.

One beautifully sculpted wing—strong, golden, graceful—extends downward in a cascade of feathered lines, symbolizing protection, guidance, and the unwavering love that holds us when we need it most. Beneath it hangs an ultra-tiny, super delicate, Austrian crystal (heart-shaped) angel, shimmering softly with light, and a golden 2025 charm to mark this year’s story. It is a quiet reminder that even when life feels fragile, you are held. You are watched over. You are loved. You are safe.

It is a reminder that protection doesn’t always announce itself loudly; sometimes it arrives gently, like a wing resting around your shoulders.

As always, proceeds from this year’s angel will be donated to charity.

Sometimes… A single message can stop me in my tracks. This was one of those occasions.

A few days ago, I received a FB message from someone who recently placed a Kemba order. I’ve never met this person (she doesn’t even live in my city) and this was only her second order with me.

Her words took my breath away as I was humbly reminded that everyone… absolutely everyone could be (and likely is) fighting battles that we cannot see or always know about. And yet… kindness can prevail and love can still shine through - even in the darkest situations.

Her personal struggles are more than I want to share here but friends… I can tell you that she’s going through a lot of hardship right now - and largely feeling very alone in it all. I was in disbelief that despite her struggles, she took the time to write such a thoughtful “thank you” note.

Yes… it was a tear jerker for sure. ❤️

Yes… an angel and another handwritten note is on its way to her.

“It’s just jewelry”… “It’s just a hobby business”… “Who’s ever going to want what I make?”… “Who am I to try and make this passion an actual business?”

These are all things I’ve said to myself over the last 15 years. For real.

And I STILL have self doubt on the regular. Oh the number of times I’ve thought about giving up.

But when you get a message like this?

Oh my heart.

How can I NOT do this!?

Thank you - all of you - for your continued support that enables me to keep going. Without you… who knows if I would have made the pieces that touched Mrs. H’s heart the way they did.

God’s Plan.

Just keep going.

That goes for you, too Mrs. H. ❤️ This is a hard season but you are not alone. Thank you for taking the time to write to me. I hope the jewelry continues to brighten your days for a long time to come.

Another handful of angels taking flight this weekend. An order from one of our longtime supporters who always carries a few angels with her “just in case”. We have quite a few people who place an annual order like this (often at this time of year) to restock their purses and glove compartments. How special is that?
