🔥 MIKAYLA RESISTS — THE BRAVE WOMAN WHO SHOWED THE WORLD THAT SOME PEOPLE ARE BORN BRAVE 🔥

Some people are born brave.

Mikayla is one of them.

Special interview for Alberta Today by Mikayla Resists

After confronting Danielle Smith face-to-face, Mikayla explained why she felt she had to do it:

“I have utilized all my democratic tools.

Writing letters.

Sending emails.

Holding protests.

Speaking out.

Working on recalls.

Working with petitions.

They continue to platform separatists and division. The government continues to silence us again and again.

I needed to take the moment to call her out face to face and let her hear the voices of many Albertans she continues to leave behind.

She continues to sell us out to foreign interests, violate treaties, cut crucial programs like AISH, abuse the notwithstanding clause, fire through billion-dollar data centres, and push the narrative of anti-immigration.

No one is safe until we are all safe.”

That is the frustration many Albertans are feeling.

People have written letters.

They have sent emails.

They have protested.

They have organized recalls.

They have signed petitions.

They have spoken out.

But when people feel ignored again and again, the anger and frustration continue to grow.

Mikayla did not speak only for herself.

She spoke for Albertans who feel abandoned.

For people who believe Alberta is stronger together.

For people who reject division and separatism.

For people who are worried about vulnerable Albertans.

For people who believe governments must be held accountable.

Democracy is not just voting once every four years.

Democracy also means speaking truth to power.

And sometimes, it takes one brave person to stand up and say what thousands of others are thinking.

Mikayla showed the world that some people are simply born brave.

🇨🇦 No one is safe until we are all safe.

🇨🇦 Alberta is Canada.

Is the UCP Fighting Ottawa While Albertans Fight Their Bills?

Premier Danielle Smith says Alberta must stand up for its future. But many critics argue Albertans are more concerned about issues they face every day.

Families are asking:
❓ Why is affordability still a struggle?
❓ Why are health care wait times still a major concern?
❓ Why is the cost of living continuing to rise?

Supporters say the UCP is defending Alberta’s interests. Critics say it’s time to put everyday issues ahead of political battles.

What do you think?
Should the UCP focus more on affordability, health care, and the economy, or are its current priorities the right ones?

🚨 EPISODE 9 | GOVERNANCE QUESTIONS CONTINUE

As Alberta Today’s investigation continues, more questions have been raised about governance, procurement, and conflict-of-interest policies at Markaz Ul Islam Fort McMurray.

Alberta Today is seeking clarification regarding contracts reportedly awarded to individuals who also served in leadership roles.

We respectfully invite Al Zabidi and Ikram Ul Haq to respond to the following questions:

❓ If you received contracts from Markaz Ul Islam Fort McMurray while serving in leadership positions, what process was followed to award those contracts?

❓ Were any potential conflicts of interest disclosed and managed in accordance with the organization’s bylaws and policies?

❓ Did you recuse yourselves from any discussions or decisions relating to those contracts?

❓ What safeguards were in place to ensure the procurement process was fair, transparent, and in the best interests of the organization?

Alberta Today also invites Markaz Ul Islam Fort McMurray to explain its conflict-of-interest policy, procurement procedures, and governance practices so members of the community can better understand how these decisions were made.

If there are documents, board minutes, or policies that answer these questions, Alberta Today is prepared to publish them in full.

Alberta’s Political Rift Deepens: Calgary Mayor Pushes Back Against Premier Danielle Smith

Danielle Smith vs. Calgary: Why Is the Premier Fighting Alberta’s Largest City?

The relationship between Calgary Mayor Jeromy Farkas and Premier Danielle Smith appears to be growing increasingly strained as disagreements over Alberta’s future and municipal authority continue to escalate.

In recent weeks, Farkas has openly criticized the province’s approach to Alberta’s separation debate, calling it a “lack of provincial leadership” and warning that continued uncertainty could damage investor confidence and Alberta’s economy. He has emphasized that Calgary is “proudly Albertan and proudly Canadian” and has expressed a desire for Calgary to actively campaign in support of remaining in Canada.

The two leaders have also clashed over Calgary’s Stampede noise regulations. After Premier Smith criticized the city’s restrictions, Farkas defended Calgary’s decisions, saying a permit should not become “a licence to bully a neighbourhood.” He added that his responsibility is to stand up for Calgarians not outside political pressure or special interests.

The public exchanges highlight a broader debate about the balance of power between Alberta’s provincial government and municipalities, as well as the province’s direction on issues ranging from local governance to Alberta’s place within Canada.

What do you think?
Should Calgary continue challenging the provincial government when the city believes its interests are at stake, or should municipalities work more closely with the province even when they disagree?

Should the Water Not Coal petition process be reviewed by the courts?

The Water Not Coal campaign says thousands of signatures were rejected, leaving the petition short of the required threshold.

Supporters argue that if there are legitimate questions about how signatures were assessed, a judicial review could provide an independent examination of the process and help clarify whether the law was applied correctly.

A judicial review would not decide the policy itself, it would examine whether the decision-making process was lawful and fair.

What do you think? Should the courts review the decision? Share your thoughts below.

What if Alberta’s separation movement isn’t being driven by public anger at all?

What if it’s being used to distract Albertans from the Alberta health care procurement scandal and other controversies facing the provincial government?

Every day, the conversation is about separation. Meanwhile, questions about accountability, transparency, and the handling of public money risk fading into the background.

Is this simply politics or is it a strategy to change the public conversation while investigations continue?

Albertans deserve answers, not distractions.

What do you think? Is the separation debate about Alberta’s future, or is it taking attention away from government controversies?
