Welcome back treasure hunters 🪎 to the answer day for 🌟 Guess That Item 🌟

🚂 What looks like a simple bamboo cane is actually a high-stakes piece of railroad history!
This is an antique bamboo train order hoop. Back in the day, train schedules were strict, and stopping a massive locomotive just to deliver a message caused major delays.
Instead, station agents used these hoops to pass critical schedule changes to moving trains. An agent would stand by the tracks, and as the train roared past, the engineer would stick their arm out the window to catch the hoop with their elbow, grab the paper orders, and toss the hoop back to the ground!
It was a high-speed game of catch that kept early railroads running safely and on time. 🌾🛤️

Welcome back treasure hunters to another game of 🌟 Guess That Item 🌟

Last week's piece unfortunately never got an answer video due to the fact that I sold it before I could make the video .😵‍💫 Last week we were looking at a last rite box from the early 1900s. These pieces were used in hospitals, as a priest's "home office" so to speak. Inside were candles, holy water, rosaries and of course his last rites book.

This week's item is an interesting one, it appears to be some sort of long cane with a loop near the top. Do you know what it was used for? Let us know in the comments, and we will give our answer on Friday.

This machine is a vintage 1950s Marx Toys "Automatic Score" Skee-Ball tabletop game. Produced by Louis Marx & Co., one of the most prominent American toy manufacturers of the 20th century, this toy brought the thrill of the boardwalk and arcade directly into the family living room.
