October is cybersecurity month. While it is easier than ever to connect to the internet, it is also easier than ever for criminals to try to gain access to your device and your information.

But, not only being an accountant but also a computer geek 🤓, here are a few steps you can take to improve your cybersecurity:
• Use strong passwords and change them regularly
• Enable two-factor authentication (2FA) wherever possible
• Be careful about what information you share online
• Keep your software up to date
• Use a firewall and antivirus software
• Be aware of phishing scams
• Back up your data regularly

Making sure your personal (and, if applicable, your business) data is secure, backed up and out of the hands of criminals is a priority. Our deepest thoughts for all of our clients affected by the flooding. Merritt, Princeton, Aggasiz, Abbotsford, Mission, Maple Ridge, Delta, Coquitlam. We are here to assist as we can. Please be safe and adhere to local and Provincial officials in regards to evacuation and road closures. Property can be replaced - people can not. Good to hear that the Canadian military has been activated to assist. Kudos to CTV News for ongoing emergency coverage.
