Come see me tomorrow from 12-4 at True North Made in the New Sudbury Shopping centre! I’ll be bringing beanies, hats and headbands, as well as taking orders for custom made items that have a quick turnaround time and will make awesome gifts for Christmas 🎄
This Saturday at True North Made, we’re thrilled to welcome Laura, the talented maker behind Evelyn Ann Knits, and we love when Makers share there story….
Laura first picked up her knitting needles in 2017 during a difficult season in her life. While moving home and navigating a depressive episode, her mom taught her to knit giving her a creative outlet and a source of comfort. What started as a way to cope soon grew into a passion for creating beautiful, cozy pieces that bring warmth to others.
Her business name, Evelyn Ann Knits, is a tribute to her family’s legacy of creativity and resilience named after her grandmother Evelyn, who taught Laura’s mom (Ann) to knit. It’s a name that carries love, strength, and connection through generations of makers.
Laura also gives back in a meaningful way — 10% of every sale is donated to Hashtag Hope, an Ontario-based organization working to end su***de by spreading awareness and shining light in dark places.
What she loves most about her craft is connecting with people who share an appreciation for handmade goods and helping them find something that adds warmth, comfort, and heart to their homes.
Come meet Laura this Saturday and explore her beautiful collection of hand-knitted hats, mitts, and headbands in a stunning range of colours. Each piece is made with care, purpose, and a whole lot of love. 💜
