Some boots are more than boots — they’re a lifetime of stories.
Today we resoled a vintage pair of Kodiak 310041 work boots with Vibram Bafida soles.
These were issued to their owner just 6 months before he retired… 30 years ago. He told me they’re the most comfortable pair he’s ever worn — and he wasn’t about to give them up.
The original P.U. soles were crumbling apart (as polyurethane often does with age). We removed them and rebuilt the foundation properly — glued, pressed, and stitched for long-term durability. Finished off with a deep cleaning, polish, and a healthy coat of bee’s wax to hydrate and protect the leather.
Now they’re ready for whatever adventure comes next.
A little history: Kodiak was founded in Canada in 1910 and built its name on rugged, dependable work boots made for harsh climates and hardworking tradesmen. Long before lightweight disposable footwear became common, boots like these were built to last — and built to be repaired.
That’s the difference.
If you’ve got a pair you love, don’t toss them. Rebuild them.
