A Little About My Alteration Process
I just thought I'd share a little behind-the-scenes look at how I work. Most people don't have wedding gown alterations done every day, so I thought you had the right to know what the process is like and what to expect.
Every gown is unique, and every bride is unique too.
Some dresses need only a few alterations, while others require much more detailed work. Because of that, each gown follows its own journey to becoming the perfect fit.
I work on dresses in stages. For example, I may begin by perfecting the bodice before I can accurately mark the hem. As one alteration is completed, it often changes how another part of the gown fits, so I continue step by step until everything comes together beautifully.
This is why it's completely normal to have more than one or two fittings. Sometimes a gown needs several appointments before it feels just right. I never want to rush that process because my goal is for you to feel comfortable, confident, and beautiful on your wedding day.
Every seamstress has her own way of working, and over the years I've developed a process that allows me to give each bride and every gown the time and attention they deserve. I truly enjoy watching each dress transform with every fitting until it's exactly the way it should be.
Thank you for trusting me with such an important part of your wedding. It truly is a privilege to be part of your journey and to help you feel your absolute best when you walk down the aisle. 🩷🌸😁
