Better care means easier access.

We knew there were families in the Orangeville and Cambridge areas travelling significant distances - sometimes relying on public transportation - to access orthotic and helmet care.

So, we brought that care closer.

Our Orangeville and Cambridge locations give families a more convenient option for assessments, fittings and ongoing support, while also allowing us to collaborate with the healthcare providers already involved in their child’s care.

Accessing the right care shouldn’t add another layer of stress to an already full plate. Sometimes, better healthcare starts by simply removing the barriers that make it harder to get there.

Where will we go next?! 🙂

This is why we love working with other healthcare professionals.

Thank you Jennifer for trusting us!

We love collaborating and we know families are benefiting from it!

When they’re not responsible for trying to connect all the dots, eveyone wins!

When healthcare providers can communicate and work together, care feels a whole lot more connected, especially during what can already be an emotional journey.

Christine and James each bring skill, perspective, compassion, problem-solving, and a level of understanding that helps patients feel instantly safe, seen, and comfortable. Same, but different.

Because different perspectives make stronger clinics.

1️⃣ A fitting that feels “just ok”. You’re trusting us with mobility, comfort, and quality of life, and we are committed to delivering “great”.
2️⃣ Our genuine gratitude when a patient trusts the process.
The best outcomes often take adjustments, follow-ups, trial and error, and honest feedback.
3️⃣ When someone wants us to replicate an old brace exactly.
Years of wear, compressed padding, and body adaptation change how a brace feels over time. “Different” isn’t always bad and can often provide new, elevated comfort.
4️⃣ Sending a trial brace home and hoping patients truly test it in real life. Our hallway is just a snapshot. We need patients walking, working, parenting, grocery shopping, and living in it to really know what’s working.
5️⃣ Hoping a patient didn’t just say “it’s fine” when it actually wasn’t. Sometimes our patients are so used to just “tolerating” and we want them to advocate for themselves. We want the honest “this feels weird” feedback. Because that’s often what helps us get to the right solution.

Good orthotic care evolves with the patient. The goal is never just to make a brace; the goal is to find the right solution for the individual.

Short answer: NO.

There’s this idea that wearing a brace automatically leads to weakness or muscle atrophy.

And in some situations, where the patient has not been regularly monitored, yes, this can happen.

But in most cases, the opposite happens, because when the body is functioning more efficiently, people often:
→ move more
→ walk farther
→ experience less pain
→ use less energy compensating
→ feel safer and more confident

Take drop foot, for example.
Without a brace, many people work overtime just to clear their foot while walking. They compensate through the hip, knee, and other muscles, which can become exhausting and inefficient over time. Then, they get a brace, and suddenly they’re moving three times more than before.

Ironically, sometimes people feel sore afterward not because the brace made them weaker, but because they’re finally able to be more active again, and their body has to catch up.

We also hear: “I don’t want to depend on a brace.” But, if you depend on it because you feel better, move better, and enjoy life more in it, that’s not dependance - it’s independance.
That’s the tool doing its job.

You don’t avoid relying on your car for long drives - you use it because it helps you get where you want to go safely and efficiently.

A brace should support your life, not sit in your closet, untouched.
