VENDOR PROFILE / Welcome Down Below as a new vendor to the Halifax Oddities & Curiosities Show! Created by Nadia, an elder-millennial horror nerd, gamer, RN, and NP student, Down Below blends cult-classic nostalgia, gothic aesthetics, anatomy, gaming, and nature’s darker side into handmade oddities and decor. Expect beaded spiders, occult and anatomy-inspired suncatchers, mimic dice boxes, fandom relics, and other strange little treasures for your crypt, bookshelf, or cursed corner. Born from art as stress relief and creative therapy, each piece mixes spooky humour with handcrafted chaos — with occasional creepy contributions from Nadia’s 8-year-old daughter, “Haunted Evelyn.” At its heart, Down Below is about dark art, community, inclusivity, and proving that creepy and kind can absolutely coexist.

VENDOR PROFILE / Art that will make your mom cringe — in the best possible way! Welcome K McKay Art to the Halifax Oddities & Curiosities Show! VENDOR PROFILE / Step into a miniature world where nature is carefully preserved and reimagined — welcome Preserved Oddities to the Halifax Oddities & Curiosities Show! Sarah creates intricate handcrafted scenes using insects, bones, fungi, botanicals and foraged natural specimens, arranging them into tiny landscapes that feel both alive and otherworldly. Blending the aesthetic of a curiosity cabinet with a playful, slightly eerie twist, every composition becomes equal parts specimen and story. Explore displays large and small, insect earrings, miniature specimen necklaces and even spiderweb light-switch covers — curious little worlds that reveal more the closer you look. THINK OF THE CHILDREN? — “I was just wondering for your show is it appropriate for children?”

HERE’s OUR ANSWER — Great question. We don’t know your children, so can’t give you a definitive answer on that. If they’re not comfortable with horror, dark fantasy and creepy and macabre things, or life size taxidermy animals, or preserved animal specimens in jars, all of which they might perceive as scary or frightening — then probably not a good idea. However, we get lots of kids under 12 that relish in it all, and find it fascinating and funny, and squeal with delight at some sights. Hopefully your children are in the latter group and can come and be fascinated and entertained. It’s the parent’s responsibility to determine whether it’s right for their children. We don’t give any weight to complaints from parents after the fact, for their decisions to bring them. Reviewing images in vendor profiles posted for this year and from past years might help guide you on the content of the show; but there will always be ‘worse’ things than shown. Your children 12 & Under get in free. All children must be accompanied by adults.

VENDOR PROFILE / Monsters can be grotesque, unsettling — and strangely beautiful. Welcome Wyrmskin to the Halifax Oddities & Curiosities Show! A dark fantasy artist from the Valley, Wyrmskin works in digital and traditional media, creating original creatures that push well beyond the comfortably human. Distorted proportions, unhinged jaws, glowing eyes and seductive forms collide with something decidedly wrong, producing monsters that are equal parts alluring and unnerving. Explore prints, posters and stickers populated by eerie creatures and strange worlds that celebrate the beauty of the bizarre. If you like your fantasy dark, grotesque and deeply inhuman, Wyrmskin is
