You’re doing better than you think. 🤍

Breastfeeding doesn’t have to be perfect—it just has to be yours. Give yourself grace, trust your baby, and remember that you deserve support along the way. 🫶🏼

Save these affirmations for the days you need a little reminder. ✨

When we support the whole body of the baby, we often see better feeding outcomes. 🤍

Because feeding doesn’t happen in isolation.

The jaw, tongue, neck, shoulders, spine, pelvis, nervous system, posture, and even the way baby organizes their body can all influence how they feed.

As a functional IBCLC, I’m not just looking at the latch and calling it a day. I’m looking at the whole picture: how baby moves, how they use their body, how they organize themselves, and what may be contributing to feeding difficulties. Their body is always communicating with us, you just need someone who knows how to listen.

That’s why bodywork is something I will always consider and incorporate into a feeding plan when appropriate.

Because sometimes the missing piece isn’t another breastfeeding position…
it’s supporting the body that’s doing the feeding. 🍼✨

This one’s SPICEY 🌶️: but you know I always keep it real 👩🏼‍⚕️😂

PUT THE HAAKAA DOWN. 🫠
It’s a passive milk collector, not a breast pump. Too much suction or using it for too long can contribute to oversupply, engorgement, and inflammation.

🫶🏼 NURSING TO SLEEP ISN’T A BAD HABIT.
Breastfeeding is more than food—it’s comfort, regulation, and connection. If it works for you, there’s nothing wrong with it.

👀 STOP SWADDLING YOUR BABY.
Yep, I said it. Do the research and you’ll understand why I’m team no swaddle. Babies are meant to move, explore, and use their hands.

🤌🏼 STOP ASKING YOUR PEDIATRICIAN TO SOLVE BREASTFEEDING PROBLEMS.
Pediatricians are child health experts. IBCLCs are feeding experts. Feeding challenges deserve feeding specialists.

📣 BIG FREEZER STASHES AREN’T THE GOAL.
Social media made you think they were. A baby who feeds well and a parent who isn’t burnt out is the real goal.

💵📱 PREDATORY MARKETING CREATED PROBLEMS YOUR BABY NEVER HAD.
Your baby doesn’t need every gadget, supplement, or viral hack. Fear sells.

🖐🏽📣 WEIGHT GAIN ISN’T THE ONLY OUTCOME THAT MATTERS.
A baby can gain weight while feeding is still painful, inefficient, or exhausting. The whole feeding journey matters.

The better question is… why are influencers trying to be lactation consultants? 👀

Breastfeeding support is not just a cute trend, a viral hack, or a 30-second tip you saw online.

It’s anatomy.
It’s physiology.
It’s oral function.
It’s milk production.
It’s recognizing when something isn’t normal.
It’s knowing when a baby needs more support.

There is a reason IBCLCs spend years studying, training, and gaining clinical experience. Feeding your baby deserves more than confident opinions from someone with a platform.

Use social media as a place to learn — but always know who you’re learning from. 🤍

🍼One of the most common questions parents ask is whether ready-to-feed formula is “better” than powdered formula.

🍼The biggest difference isn’t nutrition—it’s sterility.

🍼Ready-to-feed formula is sterile, while powdered formula is not.

🫶🏼For many healthy babies, either option can support growth and development when used appropriately, but understanding the differences can help families make informed feeding decisions.

🤎This mama walked in yesterday carrying so much worry after a difficult first week of feeding…

We started the appointment with tears but with some support and techniques she walked out smiling and confident.

🤎Her baby latched and did so well at the breast during our consult and has continued to do well going home!

By middle of the night, her baby latched without issue. These are the moments that stay with you forever.

🤎Breastfeeding support is never just about the latch — it’s about reassurance, education, confidence, and helping families feel seen and supported through one of the most vulnerable postpartum seasons.

So grateful to be trusted with these moments. 🫶🏻

👀🗣️The right bottle can support oral function, feeding development & reduce compensations from day one 🍼

Is Oral function a Big Deal?

Healthy oral function plays a HUGE role in how babies feed, breathe, sleep, speak, and develop. Proper tongue, lip, and jaw function supports efficient feeding, facial growth, airway development, and overall regulation — impacting everything from milk transfer in infancy to speech, chewing, sleep quality, and breathing patterns long term.

I’m always testing products, looking at full body function (not just the mouth) and help with all forms of infant feeding!

Getting off to the right start and investing into your baby’s health is more than just how they eat!
