I want to send a very heartfelt thank you to everyone - the organizers, the volunteers and the staff of . Thanks for giving me an opportunity to be a vendor at such an awesome event! This was my first time vending at an actual fibre event and I can truly say you made me (and my fibre supportive other half ;) feel welcome and supported and definitely excited to be there! I may have been a little awestruck by all of the other talented makers that I had moments of wondering ‘why am I even here!’ - I didn’t even take any photos as I can say I was truly enjoying being in the moment!!
I had wonderful neighbours that made the day even more enjoyable - thanks for making me feel welcome and for all of your advice, tips and tricks especially and :)
To all of the shoppers that came out - many thanks making it through Hamilton traffic and road closures! I loved your ‘if there’s a will, there’s a way’ attitude and it meant the world to me that you stopped to talk, squeeze ( the yarn, not me) and take some yarn home with you.
Knotty Little Knits has changed a lot over the years. I started by offering knit items inspired by my favourite show at the time - you may know it - Outlander :). Over time I stumbled onto hand dyed yarn.. and it was love at first squeeze. I knew that I had to learn how to do it myself - it’s been a process - a lot of trial and error - regardless it always brought me joy. It’s such a change from what I do in my non fibre life ( I’m a nurse) .. it’s nice to turn off that part of my brain. The pandemic and other life events put this all on the back burner for a while and I finally really got back in to it this past year. Like I always tell my kids - you have to keep growing and evolving and I’m excited to see where Knotty Little Knits will take me in the future!
That’s enough rambling from me - for today….
Thanks again!
