MbM Collective If you are searching for a beautifully handcrafted scrub hat with unique textiles, look no further. When looking for a scrub hat for myself I was quite picky.

Through this page I hope to take my love for arts and crafts to the next level by allowing you to shop for scrub hats that have been carefully handcrafted to fit your needs. I finally found one that I thought I liked, but I ended up paying more for it than expected and it still did not fit properly. I wanted to do something about it, so, who did I turn to? My mom of course! She just so happened to

have been a successful seamstress once upon a time and can still write the book! With her help I was able to get the ball rolling. I wanted the hats to be practical for your work environment, brighten up your patient's day, and be able to reflect a piece of your personality through fun and colourful prints and patterns. No matter your gender or your profession, you just might find something that’s perfect for you out of the numerous styles and sizes you will have to choose from. My mom is not the only one who has graciously given me help. Over the past couple of months I have had wonderful words of wisdom, advice and support from my tech-savvy brother, business-minded sister, genius webpage designer, kind-hearted accountant, plus, of course from my awesome husband and several other family, friends and coworkers. So thank you from the bottom of my heart! I would like to finish this "description" with one last statement. By being a Labour and Delivery nurse, I feel so blessed to have the absolute privilege of sharing in one of the most beautiful and special, God-given moments that a family can experience . I am so thankful for having such a fantastic organization like St. Joe's to work for and an even better staff to work with!

This is the biggest milestone I’ve hit to date 🤩

Back in 2014, I had big dreams when this little side hustle began. I thought I’d be making scrubs and scrub hats one day!

Over the years, MbM Collective ebbed and flowed through motherhood, renovations, moving, shift work, and all the beautiful chaos that comes with everyday life. It took time to learn, grow, and figure out exactly what I wanted this business to become.

Since January, I’ve been pouring my heart into turning this into a REAL business. There have been plenty of bumps along the way, moments of doubt, and times I’ve questioned whether I could actually pull this off.

But seeing the prints I personally chose come to life in the patterns we designed… I can’t even put it into words. 🥹 This shipment is so much more than 200 scrub hats—it’s years of dreaming, learning, and refusing to give up.

As timing would have it, we’re heading off on vacation tomorrow, so the official launch date is still TBD. But while I’m away, I’ll be sharing lots of sneak peeks!

I started on L&D in 2012 and at that time I was the youngest nurse on the unit.

I had very little experience - each day I was learning something new and trying to gain respect and trust… from everyone.

The OB’s, the residents, and most of my patients were all older. I remember one patient saying.. “You’re my nurse!? 😬 How long have you been working here? Do you have any kids of your own?” 🙄

It wasn’t easy.

Now I’m hanging out in the middle of the pack.
It’s actually a great time in my career. I have work experience, life experience and have built some great relationships with colleagues over the years.

So my advice to anyone just starting out is:
Be proud & humble. You landed an awesome job, show that you deserve it. Act on what you know and own what you don’t. Listen and learn - smart people are all around you. Be a team player and be kind - every generation respects that.

After a long shift you really want nothing but a good sleep and no one’s problems to worry about, but that’s not real life now is it, my friend 🙃

Here’s your reminder to pour that hot cup of coffee, get outside for some fresh air and sunshine and reset for the day/ night ahead.

But I’m curious.. do you typically edit your alarms? Or keep telling Siri to set a new one like me 😅
