MbM Collective If you are searching for a beautifully handcrafted scrub hat with unique textiles, look no further. When looking for a scrub hat for myself I was quite picky.

Through this page I hope to take my love for arts and crafts to the next level by allowing you to shop for scrub hats that have been carefully handcrafted to fit your needs. I finally found one that I thought I liked, but I ended up paying more for it than expected and it still did not fit properly. I wanted to do something about it, so, who did I turn to? My mom of course! She just so happened to have been a successful seamstress once upon a time and can still write the book! With her help I was able to get the ball rolling. I wanted the hats to be practical for your work environment, brighten up your patient's day, and be able to reflect a piece of your personality through fun and colourful prints and patterns. No matter your gender or your profession, you just might find something that’s perfect for you out of the numerous styles and sizes you will have to choose from. My mom is not the only one who has graciously given me help. Over the past couple of months I have had wonderful words of wisdom, advice and support from my tech-savvy brother, business-minded sister, genius webpage designer, kind-hearted accountant, plus, of course from my awesome husband and several other family, friends and coworkers. So thank you from the bottom of my heart! I would like to finish this "description" with one last statement. By being a Labour and Delivery nurse, I feel so blessed to have the absolute privilege of sharing in one of the most beautiful and special, God-given moments that a family can experience . I am so thankful for having such a fantastic organization like St. Joe's to work for and an even better staff to work with!

It’s a problem. 😅

When I first learned about misophonia, I realized two things:

1. I 1000% have it and need to learn how to handle it.
2. I’m not alone.

I used to think, “Am I the only one who hears this?!?” Turns out, no. And honestly, that was somewhat comforting.

Labour & Delivery is already one of the most overstimulating, noisy places. 🫠 EFM alarms. Occluded pumps. Phone and call bells ringing. People talking, laughing, singing, humming.. Your attention is being pulled in a million different directions and somehow you’re also supposed to sit down and concentrate long enough to chart.

Oh wait. Never mind. Stop what you’re doing - we’re running for a stat C-section and you need to scrub.

Then when you FINALLY get back to finish up that charting with a full bladder and empty stomach, and someone opens up a bag of chips beside you 😱

My heart rate is rising just writing this.

On our unit, we’re assigned rooms to keep stocked and ready - cupboards, delivery table, cot, NeoPuff, suction, IV supplies, EFM… the works.

And when it’s been a busy week - which it has been since, umm… forever - those rooms get pretty bare. 😅

So needless to say, it’s a little kick in the pants when a midwife takes your freshly stocked, perfectly set-up room for her patient. 😂 But that’s how our flow works, and sometimes it just can’t be avoided.

Teamwork makes the dream work, right? 😉

This is the biggest milestone I’ve hit to date 🤩

Back in 2014, I had big dreams when this little side hustle began. I thought I’d be making scrubs and scrub hats one day!

Over the years, MbM Collective ebbed and flowed through motherhood, renovations, moving, shift work, and all the beautiful chaos that comes with everyday life. It took time to learn, grow, and figure out exactly what I wanted this business to become.

Since January, I’ve been pouring my heart into turning this into a REAL business. There have been plenty of bumps along the way, moments of doubt, and times I’ve questioned whether I could actually pull this off.

But seeing the prints I personally chose come to life in the patterns we designed… I can’t even put it into words. 🥹 This shipment is so much more than 200 scrub hats—it’s years of dreaming, learning, and refusing to give up.

As timing would have it, we’re heading off on vacation tomorrow, so the official launch date is still TBD. But while I’m away, I’ll be sharing lots of sneak peeks!
