As part of Cape Breton Craft week, we invite you to join us for Sheep to Shawl: A Week in the Making at Scotsville School of Crafts.

During this week, members of the Lake Ainslie Weavers and Craft Guild will demonstrate every step of the process from washing and carding wool to spinning and knitting.

See one of the original competition sweaters created for the International Back-to-Back Wool Challenge and learn about Cape Breton’s rich fibre traditions and craftsmanship.

Ok world !!! We spent a few long days this week in the shearing shed with the amazing Amber Petersen . Our herd is pressed and dressed for summer with thier new cuts. We are open Saturday from,11am to 4 pm. Entrance. By donation. Please children accommpained with adults. Bring boots.. The transformation is epic. Farm store is open. All things alpaca and fresh eggs. You will find Mac in the field informing the audience about the herd with his magnetic story telling voice, while you cuddle and feed your favorite alpaca or lamb. EXCITING NEWS! Highlands Alpaca Farm and shop will be open Saturday . Come meet our New Valais Blacknose sheep. Help us name the lambs. Lamb and Alpaca cuddles are always on the books. Our ALPACA SHOP will be open for you to get the unique All Things Alpaca Exsperience. Mac n Wendy will be onsite to cover all questions about life as an Alpaca. Alpaca snacks will be passed out to all who want to get up close and have these magnificient animals eat from your hand. Helping us celebrate the welcoming of the new lambs and this year we have started the Alpaca adoption program. Information found onsite at Highland Market. Alpaca socks wick away sweat and work all year round for comfort no matter the season. Blankets, shawls, elegant scarf onsite. Alpaca products are great for all years round wear from the hike to the campfire. Fresh farm eggs will be onsite for purchase. Children must be accompanied by an adult please. .
