Venice has gondolas. Bourton-on-the-Water has stone bridges, ducks, charming little shops and considerably more sensible footwear. Nicknamed the Venice of the Cotswolds, it has the river Windrush running right through its heart. Tips if you’re planning a visit:
🇬🇧 Go early or later in the day. It’s a popular village and the little bridges get busy.
🇬🇧 Wear good shoes… Cobblestone will do a number on your feet 😳.
🇬🇧 Leave lots and lots of time to browse. The independent shops are half the fun, especially the wonderfully whimsical gift and sweets shops.
🇬🇧 Make it part of a Cotswolds day trip. Stow-on-the-Wold and Lower Slaughter are nearby.
🇬🇧 Don’t let a little rain stop you, sometimes it adds to the experience.

A wander through Stow-on-the-Wold, one of the Cotswolds’ most picturesque market towns. Honey-coloured stone buildings, winding lanes, historic pubs and the famous ancient doorway at St Edward’s Church, framed by two magnificent yew trees and said to have inspired Tolkien’s Doors of Durin.

A little history, a little magic and plenty of reasons to keep wandering.

📍 Bradford-on-Avon, England 🇬🇧

The village with 2,500 years of history that my sister calls home and where I’m staying on our English countryside journey.

Bradford-on-Avon’s origins go back to around 500 BC. Once a thriving centre of England’s wool trade, its honey-coloured stone buildings, medieval bridge and old weavers’ cottages remain part of everyday life today.

There’s a magic about September in the Okanagan that can’t be described, it needs to be experienced. It’s quiet. The lake is still and reflects like glass. The weather is still in the high 20’s. The vineyards are in full bloom. The apple orchards are bursting. The fragrance in the air is heavy with fruit. The pumpkins are peeping out of the ground. The sunsets are surreal. The crispness of the air in the mornings. September in the Okanagan is mother natures magic 🪄 ✨💫.

There’s something about the start of a new season that feels like a fresh beginning. And apparently fall in the Okanagan has decided to arrive at 26 degrees, so I’m happily welcoming it from my pool. ☀️

Exciting changes are coming…

I planned to launch this in mid July, but the project became bigger and bigger the more I deep dived into it.

More realizations led to more research, which led to a new brand and marketing strategy, to new visuals, to new products. What started small is now daunting.

But this audio is so true! It happens small until it happens big…

The drudgery is where the hard work lies. The drudgery is what creates the magic in the end.

I’m exited to show you all what I’m creating behind the scenes, with SO many plans beyond that for the future of WanderlustStuff.
