I love fixing stuff like this! When purse straps start pulling out, it doesn’t mean the bag is done for. This one got upgraded from worn vinyl to strong leather connectors with rivets—and now it’s ready for many more years of use.

This was a neat fix. Brand new shorts with a horrible tear. The original fabric is very unique, but I was able replace the damaged area with something that was not exact, but worked.

Occasionally, I undertake a fun and challenging task, such as extending the lifespan of this exquisite suede jacket. The underarm area and elbows were severely damaged. I removed the affected regions and incorporated new pieces to revitalize it.

It's that time of year again!

You go to put on your winter coat and the zipper is not cooperating. Did you know that a zipper does not always need to be replaced? In fact, most of the time, it is just the slider that needs to be replaced. Here's how to quickly tell if it's just the slider.

1. You zip up the slider, and the zipper pops open below the slider.
2. The slider jams.
3. The slider will not stay up.

If the slider jams, do not pull the zipper apart.Once you've done this, you've damaged the zipper and the whole zipper needs to be replaced, which is very costly. Just slip your jacket up over your head and get it to me.

Replacing the slider is a quick two minute fix, and will only cost you $15 versus $60-120 to replace a zipper.

All jacket sliders are replaced while you wait.
