I don’t know what wizardry Jules | Cobbler | CEO performed on our Avas, but they look brand new.

We understand that good shoes are an investment, and taking proper care of them only makes them last longer.

So this ILHC, marleys is teaming up with Trolet to offer ✨ complimentary shoe shines ✨

Come get your shoes shined before you compete at ILHC. Or just to show them a little love.

Here’s what the full treatment looks like:
🧹 Brush away all the debris and grit
🧴 Deep clean with cleaning lotion
🐝 Condition the leather with beeswax, plus conditioner on the outsoles so they don’t dry out and crack

Your shoes walk out looking like day one.

The Trolet team will also be bringing shoe care goods to take home:
🧴 Shoe cleaning products
🌳 Shoe trees

So you can keep up that same care long after ILHC. And if you’re a dancer based in Montréal or nearby, you can always go to Trolet to get your dance shoes cleaned up or repaired. Come talk to us about it at the booth.

A big thank you to the Trolet team for coming out and partnering with us on this one.

🕐 Saturday Jul 4 · 1pm–4pm

🎟️ Spots are limited. Reserve yours at the marleys booth Friday or Saturday before they run out, or send us a DM to lock in your shine in advance

Dancers: try this test to see if your shoes are ruining your balance. Balance is the quiet foundation of great dancing. It is what keeps your footwork precise, your transitions smooth, and your connection solid. But true balance does not just come from your core. It starts with your feet and the shoes you choose to wear. If your shoes are too stiff or do not give your foot the right feedback, they might be actively working against your stability.

Try The Balance Check:
1. Find a flat surface to balance on.
2. In bare feet or grippy socks, try a Russian Dead Lift (RDL). Balancing on one foot, bring the other one back while you simultaneously lean forward, keeping your leg and upper body aligned, almost like a see saw.
3. Pay attention to how your foot behaves. Notice which leg is harder to stabilize and how much your toes are working to grip the floor. You may need to try moving your foot around or gripping the floor differently with your toes!
4. For an extra challenge during the test, you can hold a weight in your hands to act as a counter balance.
5. Once you get the hang of it, try 3 sets of 10 reps on each side.
6. Now, put on your favorite pair of dancing shoes and try the exact same movement.
7. Is it easier, or did it suddenly become harder to stay steady? If your stability drops the second you put your shoes on, your footwear might be the problem. A shoe with a narrow front or a rigid, disconnected sole isolates your foot from the floor, making your ankle work twice as hard to maintain your balance.

If this test revealed that your current gear is holding you back, it might be time to look for a better solution (aka us, marleys ;) Give this exercise a try and let us know if it helps improve your balance!

Every social dancer has been there. You order a new pair of shoes, wait weeks for them to arrive, and the second you put them on, you realize you just bought a nightmare.

From toes being absolutely squished in a narrow toe box to the immediate panic of a blister forming during the first song of a workshop weekend, the struggle is real. Add in the frustration of paying exchange shipping fees, stiff leather that takes months to break in, and cheap soles falling apart too quickly, and it is enough to make you want to dance barefoot.

We were tired of the horror stories, so we built marleys to be the ultimate solution, and a revolutionary foot-measuring system to go with it.

Head to the link in our bio to scan your feet and get your measurements delivered straight to your inbox so you can order a pair of shoes that will heal all of your traumatic dance shoe horror stories.

Hey! It’s me, your dance shoes talking.

Just reminding you that it’s not nearly as calm and chill down here as it may seem up there!

We get laced up like our life depends on it. We’re feeling every inch of the impact when your feet hit the floor ensure maximum protection for your feet. We’re dodging misplaced rock steps so you don’t get kicked, executing swivels without letting your ankles roll, protecting your toes from solo jazz taps, flying during those boogie forwards…oh yeah, and 300bpm swing outs when the band breaks into a jam circle and you’re ready to soar through the air in a toss out.

If we were human, we’d have some pretty serious vertigo, scuffs, sweat…but we’re you’re shoes. We make it happen. We work hard so you don’t have to. If you end the night with your feet still feeling good, then all the chaos was worth it.

Hit that follow button to watch where we dance next.

Dancers: the secret to ankle stability is actually in your hips.

If you are constantly battling shaky swivels or feel your ankles collapsing during fast tempos, you might be looking at the wrong joint. True stability on the dance floor starts much higher up.

Your glute medius is the muscle that controls the entire alignment of your leg while you dance. When this hip muscle is strong, it keeps your knee tracking directly over your toe, which naturally prevents your arches from collapsing and saves you from dangerous ankle rolls. If your hips are weak, your ankles have to do double the work just to keep you upright.

Try this exercise to target this specific stabilizer:
1. Lay on your side and lift your top leg.
2. Keep your toe pointed toward the floor as you lift. This rotation engages the exact part of the hip needed to lock in your dance stance. Do 3 sets of 10 reps each.
3. For an extra challenge, try extending your leg further back away from your body so you lift it at about a 45 degree angle from your other leg or add ankle weights like you see in the video.

Building hip strength is essential, but your footwear needs to support that hard work. marleys are engineered to work in tandem with your body. By providing a structured, secure heel cup and a wide base, our shoes eliminate the internal sliding that forces your muscles to overcompensate. Together, a strong hip and a stable pair of marleys give you total, effortless control over every swivel and weight shift.

Give these leg lifts a try before your next social dance and let us know if you feel the difference in your stability.

The verdict is in. marleys are built for ALL genders.

Finding dance shoes as a male dancer is genuinely annoying.

You know the frustration of being held back by your gear. Your sole is gripping the floor like velcro. You’re mid-rock step and your foot feels like it’s strapped to a brick. Or worse, you finally find something that slides well and your arch is screaming by the third song of the night.

We built The Cat Boot for all genders. Yes, that means it’s for you male dancers too. And we specifically worked on the silhouette of the boot over multiple iterations to make sure it would have a comfortable fit.

So when Brady finally got his hands on our final sample of the Cat Boot, we were curious to see how they’d actually hold up on the floor.

Here’s what stood out:
👟 Foot-shaped toe box - your foot sits how it’s supposed to. Stable weight transfers, no toe squeeze.

🦶 Real cushioned support - two layers of foam in the insole to balance both shock absorption & energy return. Your feet will thank you on hour three.
⚡ Leather sole - fast enough to turn, develops enough grip with time to stay controlled.
🪶 Actually lightweight - sounds basic, changes everything on a long social night.

Stop adjusting your dance to fit your shoes. We designed marleys so you can focus entirely on the connection and the music. Our shoes will make sure you feel supported and empowered to dance your best, no matter which role.
