As promised, here is my 8 year anniversary 𝓰𝓲𝓿𝓮𝓪𝔀𝓪𝔂 post. This necklace has 3 flat-stitch beaded charms and is on a stainless steel chain. It is 18” long and additional links can be added to accommodate a different size. Instructions in the second slide, and I’ll be drawing the name on the 5th at 8pm EST

I’m super stoked with how this piece came out and look forward to making more 🎀 🐰🍒

10 years ago (last month) I attempted to su***de. That’s 10 years that I didn’t think I’d have. So this past weekend my friends and I celebrated the fact that I’m still alive. I’m lucky to love, and be loved by, such great people. I’m proud of myself and acknowledge all of the good work I’ve done 💜

Here is my first-ever quilt which was made for a dear friend who recently welcomed my newest nephew into the world 🥹 with the exception of the beetle fabric, it’s made entirely of thrifted bedsheets 🪡🧵

We start everyday at immersion by sharing what we did yesterday after school, and as a homebody that enjoys rest, this is what goes through my head 😅 This was my project for our current unit, distributives — aka a suffix used “to indicate an action happens many times or in many places”. The translations were added just for posting (ur welcome 😉)

I was v tempted to keep this Rainbow Trout hat for myself, but instead it was a catch and release 😉🎣
I want to make more of these kéntsyonk pals, and I’m sure I will eventually, but I am mega burnt out. One more week of school before I can take a bit of a break 😴

For my last market of the year you can catch me on Sunday, December 14th from 2-6pm at the Holiday Indigenous Art Market 🎄 these gnome ornaments/garlands will be making a reappearance, and if everything goes smoothly with this last week of the semester I’ll have new beadwork 🤞

Serihstakará:tats ken ki’? Do you even lift? 🏋️

Despite running out of time, I’m proud of this year’s DIY Halloween costume. And I’m seriously considering finishing it now that I don’t have a time crunch — the vision includes more tattoos and embroidered top surgery scars! I used muscle suit patterns, but because foam and contact cement are outside of my wheelhouse I opted to sew my suit. It’s far from perfect but I like it 💪

Hello everyone! My name is Emma Anderson, but you can call me “Anderson”. I am Kanyen’kehá:ka (Mohawk) and Scottish. My mom’s family is from Six Nations of the Grand River. I am 30 years old. I do not have kids but my pet cat [Kimchi] is my baby. I am a beader, sewer and student.

Soon I will be studying Kanyen’kéha (Mohawk language) again. I am a student at Six Nations Polytechnic and Onkwawenna Kentyohkwa. I will be in my second year of immersion. I won’t be here [on socials] much because I will be too busy.

[next bit not added in Kanyen’kéha] I’m thinking of doing a story sale in the next week or two! So if there’s anything you’ve had your eye on, that’ll be your best bet to get it before my whole personality goes back to being a language student lol. After that I don’t have any more events scheduled for the year or specific drops planned. BUT, it is hard for me to keep my hands still and the crafting urge at bay so if you stick around there’s sure to be new work sporadically and most definitely Kanyen’kéha resources 🪡📚
