I’ve always been a huge fan of buttons but I have to say these corset backs are quickly becoming a favourite. Of course they give off different vibes so I think there is room for both at the top of my list.

It’s not a quick process but good things never are. That’s what makes slow fashion so special. A whole lot of time and love goes into to every step.

So you have heard me talk about updating your mother’s wedding dress to make it your own style on your wedding day. BUT what about using it to make yourself a getting ready outfit?!

This is such a fun way to incorporate your mom’s wedding dress into your special day. Katie had already found her dream wedding dress but wanted to turn her mom’s dress into a getting ready outfit. Challenge accepted!

Using only her mom’s wedding dress we incorporated as many style details as we could into this 3 piece getting ready outfit. I absolutely love how it turned out!

It seems fitting that this tropical wedding gallery came in as we are counting down the days to our own little getaway 🌴

I will never forget during a fitting when Vicki just slipped her hands into the recently added pockets in her dress (just a completely natural moment) and screamed ‘I have pockets in my dress!!!!’ I think completely forgetting she had asked me could we discretely add pockets. Just one of the little joys of having a gown custom made 🥰

Oh Hi! Just me casually pretending to wander the grounds because my besties (aka my forever hype girls) insisted I do it. Did I feel like a complete idiot?! Sure did. BUT I do actually like how these turned out so I am going to forgive them and even more of a shock I’m posting them!

So if you are new here Hi 👋 I’m Jennie! Creating one of a kind custom wedding gowns for so many years now I actually can’t remember how long it’s been! (Somewhere around 15 years I will say) It all happened very organically so it’s hard to pinpoint an actual start date. I mean I have been in the industry since I graduated college but under my own name it’s a little harder to come up with a date. I started making a couple dresses for some close friends and then it just kind of snow balled into a full time thing.

Something I always ask in the design stage is how do you want the dress to move and feel? Do you want it to be soft and flowy or structured and tailored? (there may be a lot of weird hand motions to go along with that question 😄) The movement plays a big part in how you look and feel on your wedding day.

Factors like fabric choice, silhouette, and construction all play a role in how a dress flows and drapes as you move. When designing a custom gown these are all key design elements we discuss.

Some of my favourite pictures from the wedding day are of the couple walking because it really showcases the drape of the fabric. Jessica’s dress had some great movement. From the structure of the corset bodice to the flow of the ruffled tiered skirt and to pull it all together the softness and drape of the ‘Marie’ style sleeve.
