Yesterday, we were Saddened to hear the news of Steve Zago, co-founder and co-owner of Lost Aviator Coffee Co. Lost Aviator Coffee Bar , due to a flying accident near Fergus on Friday morning. My heart goes out to Adam, Holly, both of their families, friends, Lost Aviator team members, and all those affected by Steve’s untimely passing.

Heres a few photos of Steve and Adam flying and hanging together, some of the artwork at the LAC locations, and the infectious smiles. Take a moment and cherish them ❤️

Steve & Adam were clients of mine, and if you’ve ever met them and heard their story, they are absolute go-getters, who both flew as commercial pilots while building LAC. Both Steve & Adam have been community builders, contributors to the aviation world (which re-sparked my childhood interest in combat aviation again 🙏🏻), and enthusiasts in whatever they have had their hands in. Aside from the business, both Steve and Adam are pretty funny and have always had a great sense of humour-which is why I think we all got along!

Steve will be missed dearly, and I know that he had such a great impact on those around him- which Im realizing is a far larger circle than I even imagined- from Family & Friends, Coffee, Business, Aviation/CAF/RCAF/Waterloo Warbirds, and many other facets of life, his missing presence will certainly be felt.

Keeping Steve’s memory going for a long time to come will be in those moments where we reflect on the millions of tiny things that make up a person, and what Steve meant to each person he influenced….RIP dear friend🙏🏻 I’ll never look at another jet when the warbirds are ripping over my neighbourhood without thinking of you again.

Not sure how I missed posting this 20’ x 8’ shipping container from 2022, but here it is,-2 years later after being coated with UV Chromatic clear coat, with fully saturated colours holding strong.

This one took a long time due to all those tiny details.
I always enjoy doing railway inspired murals, seeing as I got my start in the graffiti world, and continue to have a foot in both contemporary mural art and graffiti productions.

Completed in August 2022.

I realized that I posted a reel of this earlier, but it didn’t include alot of the finished shots/static pictures so I thought I should post these.

This past summer I had the chance to design and implement a mural for in Cambridge, via the , working with Staff and students to develop some ideas and a representation of their values and statements.

I wanted to try a new style of painting, develop some new ideas, and change it up a bit from my usual line of design thinking. This was the result of that and I have to say, I had alot of fun doing it. I’ll definitely be trying more of this style in the future, continually evolving and refining it over time.

It’s not the post we wanted to make, but it’s the post we need to make…..

On Monday, February 19th, 2024 - we lost a great man-my father in law. RIP Perry “Jake” Heinrich. You have no idea how greatly you will be missed by so many that loved you. Im going to miss the war stories we traded, the laughs, the old biker tales, and all the in between- even the tough stuff. Rest easy Old Lion, we’ll keep keep those memories alive for a long time to come ❤️

Happy 11th anniversary to this beautiful gem Im proud to call my wife 😍 first pic is 2006 and the second pic is some years later. Together almost 18 years and married for 11 this year. Can’t explain how awesome our existence has been, through highs and lows, children, trauma and the greatest things we’ve both achieved in our lifetime. I would never choose anyone else. Heres to 50 more years ❤️ .mcdonald.0 what a beaut you are 😍

I had some fun finishing this 4 story “mural of heroes” for GRH about a week ago eith Chad from lending a hand. The project came about from GRHF’s Care Never Stops Campaign and was designed by Julie of . The premise behind the design was to pay tribute to patients, caregivers, nurses, doctors, and staff.

Unfortunately, Julie had experienced an injury before the mural started, and was unable to be up on a lift to paint this in the timeline that was given. She asked us if we’d be into laying it down for her and we said yes.
Julie is a talented artist who has also done mural work throughout the region, and we were happy to meet and work with her. Look for a large scale collaboration between us in the future ;)

To be honest-It was really weird at first, to paint someone else’s artwork at such large scale but once the lines were down, it became a lot of fun.

6 gallons of Loxon, several of Latitude, 120 spray cans, 2 lift changes, 100 coffees, 200 bottles of water, a CTV interview, a newspaper article and here we are.

Thanks again to

Some final detail shots on this mural at Victoria Hills Community Centre. Thanks again to on the collaboration-really proud of the work we did for this one, all freehand, mostly freestyled on the spot. We picked the words “Resilience” & “Love” the first day to represent the vibe of this entire neighbourhood. 4 days later, this was the result. I probably would have done my letters differently next time but we have many projects together in the future and I will always be harder on myself than anyone else. I do have to say Im happy with all the fine details throughout this mural. Looking forward to the next one :)
