“But what are the prices like?” 👀

Probably the #1 question I get on my vintage shop tours, and also one of the hardest to answer.

Because what’s expensive to me might be a steal to you, and what I’m willing to spend $50 on, you might walk right past. 😂

That’s the beauty of vintage shopping. There really is something for every budget, and the best way to know what a shop’s prices are like is to go in, browse, and see for yourself.

And one more thing, don’t be afraid to negotiate!

Be respectful, make a reasonable offer, and see what happens. The worst they can say is no, and who knows? You might score big.

The shop is only open seasonally until mid-October, so there are just a few more weeks to visit before they close for the year!

Take your time, enjoy the beautiful Laurentian views along the way, and leave a little extra room in the car for the treasures you’ll inevitably find. 😉

One day. Over 150 vendors. Countless treasures. ✨

The Lachute Expo is one of those events that vintage lovers look forward to all year, and after spending the day exploring, it’s easy to see why.

From antiques and vintage décor to collectibles, signs, toys, artwork, furniture, and so many one-of-a-kind finds, there was something waiting around every corner.

One of my favourite parts was seeing how beautifully curated so many of the booths were. The vendors put so much thought into their displays, making the entire experience feel like walking through hundreds of tiny vintage boutiques. Chef’s kiss. 👏🏼

‼️Missed this year’s expo? You don’t have to wait until next summer to visit Lachute. The Lachute Flea Market is open every Sunday and Tuesday, where you can browse antiques, vintage finds, collectibles, and fresh market vendors throughout the season.

And if you want to experience the Expo for yourself, be sure to follow their Facebook and Instagram pages so you don’t miss next year’s date. It only happens once a year!

This has become one of my favourite traditions of the summer. 🎨

I’ve been coming to Art de Vivre for three years now, and it never disappoints!!

The setting is beautiful, the weather always seems to cooperate, and you can easily spend a few hours wandering through the curated gallery discovering incredible Canadian artists, vintage pieces, and antiques around every corner. It’s one of those events where you slow down, take it all in, and leave feeling inspired. 😍

If you’re looking for something to do tomorrow, I couldn’t recommend it more.

First vintage market pop-up ✅ DONE!!

A few months ago, the idea of participating in a vintage market felt exciting, but also a little intimidating.

Would people come?
Would anyone buy anything?
Was I bringing too much stuff?
Was I completely overthinking all of it?

On Saturday - none of that mattered.

What mattered was meeting so many kind, supportive people, sharing stories about vintage treasures, and seeing an idea come to life.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by the Your Vintage Compass booth, made a purchase, followed along, or simply came over to chat. Meeting so many of you in person was truly the highlight of the day.

A special thank you to Kyle, who helped make it all happen, from loading two carloads of vintage finds to setting up, packing down, and everything in between.

And thank you the Fondation Hormisdas Pilon for organizing such a wonderful event and welcoming us to the Marché des Mémoires.

As for me? I’m already thinking about the next one. ✨

Sometimes the thing you’ve been thinking about is worth trying.

One of the biggest antique shops I’ve visited yet, packed with vintage furniture, lighting, hardware, books, jewelry, collectibles, and treasures around every corner.

I walked out with a vintage washboard, wooden spatulas, and the most beautiful cufflinks. Safe to say I could’ve spent another few hours there.

SO… IT’S HAPPENING. ✨

One of the questions I get asked most often is:
“Do you have a shop?”

And while the answer has always been not yet… I figured this might just be the next best thing.

For the very first time, Your Vintage Compass will be popping up at a vintage market!

After spending so much time sharing hidden gems, favourite vintage spots, and the thrill of the hunt with this amazing community, it feels extra special to finally bring some of my own curated finds out into the real world for you to shop in person.

Think vintage treasures, collected curiosities, décor, transferware (of course 😌), and pieces that made me pause before deciding to let them go.

But what I’m honestly most excited about?
Meeting so many of you in person!!

To everyone who has followed along, cheered me on, shared recommendations, sent kind messages, or simply loves the vintage world as much as I do, I can’t wait to finally connect face-to-face with this beautiful community.

Got a little preview before opening day… and wow, Deux & Co. did not disappoint ✨

I was invited to see their new boutique space at the Lachute Flea Market ahead of the season, and it’s everything you’d want in a vintage setup. Thoughtfully curated, beautifully layered, and full of pieces you didn’t know you needed until you see them.

Think renaissance meets cottagecore meets vintage romance… I truly could’ve walked out with everything… but I got lucky with some gorgeous pale blue coffee mugs and 4 brass napkin ring holders!!

They officially open Tuesday, May 5th, and will be there Sundays and Tuesdays all season long.
