I got all settled in to the Irene Thomas Hospice in Ladner yesterday. It's such a wonderful facility for our town and I'm very happy to call it my new home.
Yes, the shop s still running just fine for now, thanks to staff Sara, Avah, Linda, and Tyree, as well as the amazing behind-the-scenes crew that help keep the motors running.

Wellness Journey Update:
My last update was Jan.21st, and things have evolved since posting my ringing the bell for the end of radiation on my lung. Next week I'll be having radiation on my abdomen again.
I had mentioned that I was on the chemo drug Gemcitabine and thought maybe "it'll be the one" for me. Since then I have decided to quit chemotherapy altogether. It's been unsuccessful and the side effects had started to catch up to me. I was so fortunate to have no pain or nausea all those months of playing with wigs and staying upbeat. Not so anymore.
Now I have a great pain management team at the Surrey Cancer Clinic, and have had a visit from a Ladner home care nurse.
The photo of me on the ferry was taken last weekend. My amazing Ruby and Simon treated me to a fabulous getaway to Port Renfrew. It was on my bucket list to go there 🦅
It's time to focus on enjoying life with my crew.
The shop is still doing fine, but I recently sent a message to all my Loyalty customers to remember to use their gift cards and store credit. 2024 will be my last year. It'll be like Jack Benny - 39 and holding.😀

"walk quietly / ts'ekw'unshun kws qututhun is a community-guided walk located at the end of River Road West in Ladner, British Columbia. It tells the story of Hwlhits'um (Brunswick Point / Canoe Pass) from the diverse and complex perspectives of scientists, artists, and Indigenous Peoples.

We humbly acknowledge this project takes place on the ancestral and present-day lands of the Coast Salish Peoples, including the Hul'qumi'num Mustimuhw (Hul'qumi'num Treaty Group of seven Coast Salish Nations), scəw̓aθən (Tsawwassen), and xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam). This project is in participation and consultation with the Hwlitsum First Nation, and works to build ties with all whose lands it touches.

Curated by Amy-Claire Huestis and Kim Trainor, the walk links specific spots on the d**e trail at Hwlhits'um to the many contributions found on this website. Follow the trail and listen, watch, and learn about this special place."

Wellness Journey Update:
Rang the bell on Tuesday to commemorate another radiation treatment all done! 🔔 Thank you to my daughter Ruby for accompanying me!
*The good news is that I have the 5 radiation treatments behind me to reduce the metastatic mass on my lung. It needs some shrinkage so as not to interfere with my breathing.
*The unfortunate news is that I've been struggling with abdominal pain which is likely due to the growth of the mass down there, but still under investigation, including another CT scan getting booked.
I have an appointment this Tuesday at the BC Cancer pain clinic to get that under control. I expect that I'll have to start taking something stronger than hydromorphone and Tylenol.
I've also lost my appetite and my energy. Getting lots of bed rest. Spirits are still up and hoping that the Gemcitabine chemo drug will show good results. I'm scheduled back on it this Friday.
My shop is celebrating its 39th anniversary this month! It's being looked after by Sara, Avah and Linda, and soon Tyree. We're stocking up for Valentine's Day.💕
I can't say enough about the wonderful support from family, friends and community. Especially to my sweetheart Keith, and my Ruby and Simon. Too many friends and family to name. Big love to you all.🌹💖

Happy 39th Anniversary to us!
"Angela's Attic" first opened upstairs January 10th, 1985. By the end of the year we had moved to street level with our big neon "Angela's Unique Boutique" sign. A few years later we gained the coveted corner location. It's been a rewarding experience of fun and fashion in our community. Come on down to our January sale, or shop our online www.angelas.ca.
