This brooch is part of my Matrilineal Fascinator project.

It features a photograph of my great-grandmother, Rachel, enameled onto metal and set as a brooch.

She is one of the women whose memory, story, and presence are being brought into this project through jewelry and adornment.

Sometimes I crash and burn when I first start making with a n**e technique. Here, I am trying to make some teardrop wood earrings..... But I learned some stuff. And I have a plan for how to continue. I'm not giving up!..... But man this first try was disappointing.
