Ⓔ 1967, 3 generations strong Founded in 1967 by John Nisbett in Port Hope Ontario.

Passed on to Greg Nisbett and a partner in 1981. Henry Houser Mens Shop was bought out in 1985 after having been in business for over 80 years. After the closing of the Port Hope store in the 1990s, Nisbett's Clothiers in Lindsay stayed strong and today is the leader in mens clothing. Specializing in in-stock formal wear rental and sales, as well as tailored clothing and brand name casual wear.

My heart is breaking for Charlie.

Many of us in Lindsay know Charlie and have watched him become part of our daily lives. After the loss of both of his parents, he is now facing another major change and may be moving to a group home in Peterborough.

For someone with autism, familiar routines, familiar faces, and a supportive environment are so important. The thought of Charlie being moved away from the community he knows and the people who care about him is heartbreaking.

I worry about whether he will receive the support, stability, and understanding he deserves. Every person deserves a home that meets their unique needs and allows them to thrive.

If there are resources, supports, housing options, or ways to help, let’s come together as a community and see what can be done. Charlie is not just a name—he is someone many of us know, care about, and want the best for.

Please keep Charlie in your thoughts and share if you know of anyone who may be able to help. ❤️

Legacy never goes out of style.

Jaxson stopped by Nisbetts Clothiers to pick up this sharp Paul Betenly suit for the office, and we couldn’t be more excited to see young men taking the initiative to dress professionally in the workplace.

We’ve always believed that what you wear is part of your personal brand. In many ways, your outfit is your business card before you even say a word.

For generations, we’ve had the privilege of helping young men prepare for life’s next chapter, and it’s great to see that pride in appearance and professionalism is still alive and well.

A little piece of Nisbetts history.

This stapler has been around for as long as I can remember. Sitting on desks, stapling invoices, orders, receipts, and countless pieces of paperwork over the years.

Curious about the markings on it, I looked it up and discovered it’s an APSCO A10 made in Toronto, Ontario. It’s estimated to be decades old and may even date back to the early years of Nisbetts Clothiers.

What makes it especially meaningful is that my dad, Greg Nisbett, used this stapler throughout his entire career. Day after day, year after year, it sat on his desk helping run the business he loved.

The amazing part? It still works perfectly. In fact, it works better than many of the new staplers we’ve gone through over the years.

My grandfather opened Nisbetts Clothiers in 1967, and while I can’t say for certain this stapler has been here since day one, it has become a small symbol of the legacy he started, my dad carried forward, and that we’re proud to continue today.

Some things just aren’t made like they used to be.

❤️ A Legacy Continues ❤️

One of the greatest privileges of a family business is watching young people grow.

Peyton is graduating high school at the end of this month and preparing for his next chapter at university. Dalton is still navigating his high school years, and Brianna has already taken that step into university while continuing to be an important part of our team.

What makes their stories special is that all three started with us as young students, and we’ve had the privilege of watching them grow into the incredible young adults they are today.

While attending university, Brianna continues to help lead our formal wear and tuxedo division, following in the footsteps of Lucy, who helped guide that department for so many years. Peyton plans to return and help out whenever he can while attending university, continuing a relationship with the store that has been built over years of hard work and dedication.

From after-school shifts and busy Saturdays to helping customers find the perfect fit, each of them has become an important part of the Nisbetts family. We’ve watched their confidence grow, celebrated their milestones, and cheered them on every step of the way.

At Nisbetts Clothiers, legacy isn’t just about the generations of our family who have been part of the business. It’s also about the young people who become part of our story and leave their mark along the way.

To Brianna, Peyton, and Dalton—thank you for your hard work, dedication, and everything you bring to our team. We are incredibly proud of the people you have become and grateful to have been part of your journey.

Watching the next generation grow is one of the most rewarding parts of what we do, and we can’t wait to see what the future holds for each of you. ❤️
