Congratulations on 5 Years, Marie Brown!

It is hard to believe it has already been five years since Marie Brown joined our team.

Marie manages The Spectacle Company with professionalism, dedication, and such positive energy, and her contributions have made a meaningful impact on both her customers and her team.

She came to us with valuable optical experience, and since then she has worked hard to continue growing in her field, earning her licence as an Optician. Her commitment to learning and excellence is something to be proud of and celebrated.

Marie has a wonderful eye for fashion and flair, and she brings that passion into every customer interaction. She is dedicated to ensuring each customer feels supported, understood, and confident in finding exactly what they are looking for.

Her leadership is reflected in the supportive and encouraging environment she helps create every day. She leads with care, sets a strong example through her work ethic, and shows a genuine commitment to helping her team succeed.

We am truly thankful for Marie’s support, hard work, and dedication over the past five years. Her warmth, leadership, and steady commitment are appreciated more than words can say.

We look forward to all that the future holds and to celebrating many more successes together.

With all the Canada Day festivities this week, fireworks & sparklers are sure to make an appearance.

Did you know fireworks & sparklers can potentially cause serious harm to your eyes? 🎆

Some tips to stay safe during celebrations:
💥 If you are setting off fireworks, be sure to wea
r eye protection. If you are a bystander, view fireworks from at least 500 feet away.
💥 Respect the safety barriers when going to see fireworks displays.
💥 Sparklers can cause eye damage if held close to eyes, so be sure to handle away from your face. It is not recommended to give sparklers to young children.

Celebrate safely this weekend - protect your eyes so you continue to see clearly for more celebrations to come! 🥰🇨🇦

National Eyewear Day, June 6th – Is Your Child Seeing Clearly?

Many children don’t realize when they are having trouble seeing. They often assume that what they see is normal—even when it isn’t.

Undetected vision problems can affect learning, attention, and confidence in the classroom.

Watch for these signs:
• Frequent headaches or eye strain
• Difficulty concentrating
• Sitting too close to screens or books
• Squinting or unusual viewing habits
• Covering one eye or tilting the head
• Eye Rubbing

An eye exam is the only way to be sure of your child’s vision.

Children between 2 and 17 should have an eye exam every year.

Regular vision checks are an important part of healthy development and school success.

Call us to book your families eye exams today!

Great video from the Canadian Association of Optometrists and such an important reminder that kids really do see everything 👀

If you’re noticing any of these signs, it might be time to book an eye exam and make sure your prescription is up to date. Clear vision makes a big difference in how we learn, play, and experience the world.

When was your last eye exam?

Do you tend to get dry eyes while working for long periods of time at a computer? Or are you experiencing dry eyes while watching your festive favourite? There is a chance you have digital eye strain!
❄️ Instead of always reaching for the eyedrops, try practicing the 20/20/20 rule: Every 20 minutes, for 20 seconds, look 20 feet away.
