With kids going back to school it is difficult to limit screen time. Therefore, taking regular breaks is important. For every 20 minutes of screen time, encourage your child to take a 20 second break and look at something 20 feet away. This will help relax their eyes.

To help with sleep, screen time is not recommended for any age, at least 1 hour before bedtime.

On August 12, 2026, Canadians across much of the country will have the chance to witness a partial solar eclipse. While this celestial event is sure to spark curiosity, it's important to remember that looking directly at the Sun, even during a partial eclipse, can cause serious and permanent eye damage.

Keep your eyes safe by:
👓 Using certified solar eclipse glasses or solar filters
📽️ Viewing the eclipse indirectly with a pinhole projector
💻 Watching a livestream from a trusted source
