This bag is what inspired this brand.

It was my father’s geological surveying backpack used on expeditions from back in the 70s in the great canadian north.

Now this style is part of modern day trends - however back then it was designed for harsh utility, not fashion.

Field workers relied on surplus military designs. OD (olive drab) Canvas was the staple canvas - it was cheap but held up against punctures and abrasion from tools, rocks and brush. The tone - OD (Olive drab) was most common as it didn’t show mud, dust or field dust as easy.

Modern heritage workwear celebrates that rough existence rather than requires it. Most heritage style clothing produced these days surpasses the standards of the modern workman.

I have always collected items like this throughout my life. This brand is my attempt at reinterpreting them into workwear and furniture 🤘🏻

Spent the weekend planning out the pottery studio for my partner in our sun room. The hope is to collaborate on some furniture projects in the near future where I start integrating ceramics.

While I had her I got her to throw on the London shirt. A few gals asked for this to be available in woman’s sizing. This whole business is really in the prototype phase where we’re testing things out, but as things progress I’ll 100% be releasing a womans line 🤘🏻

We will be opening pre orders for a very small production of the London shirt (mens) next month in three tones.

Every morning I take all 5 of my dogs to grab a coffee and a plain donut to split. One morning I won an 84” TV from my coffee. That same week, my dream truck popped up for sale

A 1976 Ford F-250 390 Camper Special

It had been sitting under a tarp at a children’s camp for 21 years.
I sold the TV for exactly what the truck cost and towed it home. The engine was seized, everything was seized, and there were nests throughout the engine bay, but overall - salvageable 🤘🏻

Around that same time we finished the first prototype of this pant, so I wore them through the entire teardown and everything else that came with bringing the truck back to life.

The goal was simple: build a pant that’s comfortable enough to move in all day but tough enough for real work. We added a rear elastic waistband with a drawstring instead of a belt, a gusseted crotch for more room, oversized aviator-inspired pockets, riveted stress points, and zippered leg openings so you can wear them tapered or flared.

We’re testing them in brushed bull denim and lighter Japanese canvas. Built for people who spend more time making, fixing, and tinkering than standing still.

Every morning I wake up and bring all 5 of my dogs to grab me a coffee & a plain donut to split. One fine morning I won an 84” TV from my coffee. The same week some fella an hour away posted my dream truck online:

A 1976 Ford F250 390 Camper Special

Sat under a tarp for 21 years at their children’s camp, abandoned by its previous owner.

I sold the TV for the price of the truck and towed it home.

Seized engine, seized everything, nests in the engine bay. All the joys of being stagnant 21 years. But overall - salvageable & an easy engine to work on.

Around the same time we finished the first prototype of this pant. So I was wearing these things everywhere - pulling that engine apart and running truck chores in the process to break them in.

I wanted to design a pant that was versatile for tougher chores where you’re moving around allot but looked good enough to be an everyday pant. My whole life I’ve been in stiff pants and overalls. I think we get caught up in what a pant ought to be like based on what’s trending. So the waste is banded at the rear with a draw string - no belt. So when you bend over your belts not suffocating you. The crotch is gusseted, extra room for those man parts to breathr. The pocket design is based on an old WW2 aviator jacket. It sit on top, is two compartments, rather than inside of the pant and could fit a puppy, so more room for you to move on the inside. But at stress points we added rivets. Added a zipper at the base so you can taper or flare them based on your style. It’s an unusual pant but it grows on you. This was in a brushed bull denim, but we’re trying them out in a few lighter Japanese canvas.

Versatility is key. That’s why we are working hard on two completely different pants. Two pants for major tinkerers.

Calling this the Chore pant - because I’m tired of all the chore coats that don’t have a matching bottom. It’s possible we will rename them into the Mounty Pant - if you’re canadian you’ll understand.

All our materials we spend a while going down rabbit holes with. Like everything - we don’t really enjoy working with them unless they have a rich history.

Walnut is and will remain our staple wood choice. 14+ years building custom furniture we decided - why the hell not just use what we most enjoy.

And then there are Textiles. Knowing how the fabrics you’re wearing are produced can really change how they feel on you or just hanging in your closet. Our focus is not on recycled materials or greenwashing - it’s on the history of the textiles that made them what they are.

We make our garments from materials with history and proven longevity. Naturally, upholstery is meant for heavy use - so the materials are more robust. But you’d never make apparel out of upholstery - we do it the other way around.
