When Special Olympics Medicine Hat Special Olympics Canada came to my store to ask me to be involved in bra fittings at this year’s National Games, they said “Hillary, can you believe most of the athletes are not wearing a properly fitted bra?” I said- CAN I EVER!
There’s a huge need in this community, and women’s sports at every level, to have a properly fitted bra as part of your sports equipment. It can be difficult not only to have access to a quality sports bra, but the help of a professional fitter to help. I believe a sports bra is the last thing that should hold any woman back from doing her best at anything she chooses- and we are really making a difference here!!
We are doing an absolutely “Olympic” amount of bra fittings, we guess it will be around 500, and a brand new sports bra will be provided to every athlete that chooses to participate in the program. That’s an incredible achievement!
This is the first year that Bra Fitting has been included in the Women’s Health programming at the National Level, and I am absolutely thrilled to support. I have learned so much, heard incredible stories, and met inspiring athletes. I will never forget this experience!
Thank you to my staff and other generous volunteers for helping me with this monumental event- I am so grateful. And I am also proud of our entire city for hosting such an incredible event!!!!!!
