Taking a break from the machine this weekend for all things kids, cows & chaos. 🤍

So many of my childhood August long weekends were spent at Manitoba Youth Beef Round Up, and now our kids get to make those same memories. Pretty special watching the next generation love the things that shaped you.

There was something about this fabric that I just couldn’t leave sitting on the shelf.

The green caught my eye, but it was the words woven throughout it, family, home, together, that made me know it was meant to become a cow.

Because when I think about this life, and especially this weekend as we head to MB Youth Beef Round Up, those are the words that matter most.

The banners fade, the placings are forgotten, but the memories made in the barn, the laughter around the trailer, and the people beside you… that’s what stays.

So this one is for me. A little reminder stitched into something I’ll wear often, of why I love this community so much. 🤍🐄

Meet the first member of this little dino crew… 🦕💚

This patchwork stegosaurus is all stitched up and ready for adventures! Every piece is cut and sewn by hand, making each shirt one of a kind.

The best part? His friends are joining him very soon! A triceratops and brachiosaurus are on their way, and I already know three brothers that are going to look absolutely adorable in their matching Dino Crew shirts. 🦖💚

24 hours in the Magic City also meant one very important stop… Hobby Lobby. 🤭

And let’s be honest, I was never making it out of there without grabbing a couple of the viral mock neck sweaters.

This sweet little fox was the very first one to make it onto one, and it’s headed to a friend. 🦊❤️ I think it turned out even cuter than we imagined.

Now I’m officially undecided on what I want for my own sweater… because after seeing this one come together, I might just have to make myself a matching fox or maybe a baby bloodhound?🤎 🧡✨

I think there’s one guy who’s happier than I am to be back in the sewing room… 😂

Meet Rip. Or Rippy Dippy. Or Dippy Doo. Around here, he’s also the Head of Security and Reception. 🐾

Sewing room days are his favourite because they mean uninterrupted naps, a quiet room, and minimal chaos (unless the fabric scraps start moving… then he’s on duty).

He’s always the first to clock in, keeps a close eye on every package that arrives, and somehow manages to supervise every stitch without leaving his spot.

Safe to say, my little assistant is pretty happy we’re back. 🤍

Now if only I could teach him to run a vacuum on this carpet, we’d be golden! 🤔

Every single patch is cut by hand.

With 30 fox sweaters on the way, that means hundreds of little pieces to pin and cut. ✂️🦊

I’ve had so many people suggest using a Cricut or other cutting methods, and while I appreciate the recommendations, this is the way I love to do it. It’s slower, but it’s my favorite part of the process. Every curve, every ear, every tail has been cut by my own two hands.

So when you hear “handmade,” I truly mean it. Not just sewn by hand, but thoughtfully created from start to finish with my whole heart and my own hands.

Thank you for choosing pieces that aren’t mass produced, but made with care, one cut at a time. 🤍
