🦴 The Story of Nurse Humerus

Hi fellow nurses! I am Alvin de Luna a.k.a Nurse Humerus and I want to share my story and the story behind PILIPINARS brand. 💥 Last year (2018) I made one of the biggest and scariest decisions in my life. After many years of being an OFW, I left my stable job in Singapore while my wife stayed who is also a nurse.

So much things happened in the past. While on vacation in the Philippines, 3 days before the 3rd birthday of our daughter the three of us were involved in road traffic accident. I sustained multiple rib fx, our daughter ct scan reveals a fx skull while my wife suffers a knee injury. We celebrated our daughter’s birthday at the hospital wearing our terno Princess Sophia shirts. 😍

After all the emotional, spiritual and financial struggles...in God’s grace through the help and support of our friends, colleauges and families we recovers well except that I had PTSD.

A year after the incident, I sustained a wrist injury while on my night shift after transferring patient from bed to bath trolley and it may or it may not related with the previous accident. I underwent wrist operation and despite completing rehab sessions, my wrist strength never came back to 100%.

REWIND ⏪ ⏪

Few days before the operation. I build the website http://www.k-tee.art with one hand literally. The name K-tee came from our daughter’s name Katy. I posted the first 2 shirts on my personal Facebook, the blue and white PILIPINARS shirt and I got overwhelming support locally and abroad. It was a surprised. I did not expect it.

So where is PILIPINARS brand came from?...

I am a big fan of GILAS PILIPINAS who represents our country in basketball sports around the world and their famous tagline (or tagword 😀) #PUSO . Their pride is like as ours, nurses .We save lives across the globe. I will not elaborate further, you know what I mean. 😊

PILIPINAS+NARS=PILIPINARS 🇵🇭

My VISION is for us nurses to be recognized as one here and abroad by wearing the same shirt (literally and figuratively)

My MISSION is to bring joy to the nurses by printing our stories in a piece of cloth.

Currently our brand already reaches different countries such as US, Canada, UK, UAE, Australia and Singapore.

Disclaimer: The word PILIPINARS did not originate from me. After searching google, I found out that somebody uses it long ago. However all the clothings and any materials with the word PILIPINARS are only available at Nurse Humerus Facebook and Instagram and on our official website @ http://www.k-tee.art ... As I am writing this, the trademark PILIPINARS is already awarded to me by Intellectual Property of the Philippines.

FORWARD ⏩ ⏩ At this point in time, there’s nothing more important than to be with our daughter. I want to take care of her as she grows, make her laugh, teach how to strum a guitar, and to teach her the right from wrong. I don’t want her to call us auntie and uncle which is actually happening in some families. We can have all the money and material things in the world but the love, respect and attention from our children are something that we cannot buy. .
