It was an honour to showcase the Islamic calligraphy fashion, at the Mosquers film festival red carpet.

This fabric is a restoration of a buried form of Islamic art called “Damask”, that was lost/appropriated when Syria was invaded by France during 1148.

The Damask (originating from Damascus) Islamic art was a form of Ihsan (Ihsan: to praise god as if you see him), which Muslims used to remember god’s beauty during prayers.

When Damascus was the center of trade routes between Africa, Asia, and Europe. It was called “The Silk Road”, named after the Damask silky textiles it produced and traded as a symbol of Islam.
